Job Description
We are seeking a VP-level individual to support the global structured solutions effort within Brookfield Credit.
Position Summary
The Structured Solutions Specialist is responsible for supporting the Credit business in building and expanding the tools and solutions available to meet the needs of those private credit investment partnerships. That would include Brookfield Funds, SMAs and other forms of partnership. . The position will work closely with Brookfield Client Relationship Managers (CRMs). As a member of the team, the individual will play a significant role in strategizing, leading projects, and helping Brookfield to meet its capital-raising objectives.
Acting on behalf of BAM, the individual must develop a knowledge of the firm's products and strategies as well as the markets in which they operate. The successful candidate must know insurance company and pension investing, be resourceful, proactive, detail-oriented, have a strong ability to problem solve / multi-task, and be a collaborative team player. The role will report to the Managing Director Credit Structural Solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead development, modeling and structuring of insurance capital efficient asset structures including rated feeders, ABS and CLO structures, depending on the asset and form of ownership
- Have a deep knowledge of the clients goals such as ALM, regulatory accounting framework for multiple insurance jurisdictions
- Design products that meet the unique needs of pension, endowment, and sovereign wealth funds. These would include ALM, liquidity and regulatory where applicable
- Understand and analyze investment trends across the private credit space
- Aid in the design of comprehensive offerings and holistic solutions to insurance companies, pensions and other credit investors
- Deep understanding ofthe rating agency processes for Structured Finance and Closed End Fund Methodology to optimize on both collateral types and structures to meet regulatory, ratings, duration, and other structural goals.
- Requires someone who has both an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to work well as a team player in Brookfield's collaborative culture
- Coordinate and collaborate with multiple teams and departments, interacting with all levels of the organization, to work on various initiatives in an organized, concise fashion
Qualifications & Requirements
- Candidates must have at least 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in identifying and, designing asset management products that solve the needs of the private credit investor, specifically, life and P&C insurance companies
- Must be able to manage the entire product development process from modeling, developing term sheets, working through the rating agency, and legal process. In addition, working with the relative BAM Fin Op teams to be able to deliver to the client a wholistic, institutional experience from start to finish
- Have a good understanding of the various insurance and pension regulatory regimes
- Be able to work with the relevant teams to develop marketing materials for the solutions that are scalable
- With regard to culture, the candidate MUST be a team player, highly ethical, a good communicator and a long-term thinker
- Experience working with private funds and knowledge of the alternative asset management industry preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle pressure effectively to successfully manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously while maintaining the highest standards of work product and adhering to stringent deadlines
- Analytic and strategic thinker with the ability to assess complex situations, make effective recommendations and oversee projects through completion
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a clear ability to effectively coordinate with a wide variety of professionals at all levels and departments within and outside of the organization
- Expertise in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Undergraduate degree with an excellent academic background additional credentials including FSA, MBA and/or working towards CFA is a plus
Salary Range $200,000 - $225,000
Our compensation structure is comprised of a base salary and a short-term incentive program (cash bonus). Cash compensation tends to vary based on geography to account for local market conditions and is set to be market competitive. Compensation decisions are based on a number of factors including relative experience, overall years of experience, industry experience, education and designations.
