About this role
BlackRock Infrastructure Solutions (BIS) is a division within BlackRock's infrastructure investment group. Since its establishment in 2011, BlackRock's infrastructure investment group has become one of the leading platforms in the industry, with c. $30bn of assets under management on behalf of institutional and retail investors across the world. BlackRock's infrastructure investment group encompasses various strategies, including direct private equity (including renewable power and energy & power), debt, public securities, and multi-manager investing, executed through commingled funds and separately managed accounts.
BlackRock Infrastructure Solutions is the firm's infrastructure private equity multi-manager solutions group with offices in New York City, London, Zurich, Hong Kong, Singapore and Budapest. BlackRock Infrastructure Solutions is a fast-growing, entrepreneurial business that builds and implements outcome-oriented infrastructure private equity portfolios for institutional investors globally through investments into funds (primaries and secondaries) and direct co-investments. The team employs a diversified approach, investing across sectors including transportation, energy, power & utilities, telecommunications, social, and water as well as across geographies, with a longstanding track record in the Asia Pacific region. With a track record of over 100 investments executed since 2008, BlackRock Infrastructure Solutions has one of the most experienced infrastructure multi-manager teams in the industry.
We currently have an opportunity for a qualified candidate to join the team as a Senior Investment Professional. You will lead the origination, underwriting, execution, and ongoing management of infrastructure investments (primaries, secondaries, and direct co-investments) on a global basis, with a focus on Asia Pacific.

Responsibilities
- establishing industry partnerships and originating differentiated investment opportunities across primaries, secondaries and direct co-investments, with a focus on Asia Pacific.
- Deal origination
- leading commercial due diligence, financial review, preparation of materials and memorandums for BIS' investment committee, coordinating the tax and legal review, and closing on transactions, including in pre-bid situations.
- Deal execution
- supporting business initiatives and fund-raising campaign, with a focus on Asia Pacific.
- Business development
- supporting portfolio allocation and implementation proposals (including cash flow modelling).
- Portfolio analytics
- mentoring and motivating junior resources.
- People management
- researching market trends, pricing and regulatory changes.
- Student of the market
- monitoring investments and leading performance review meetings.
- Portfolio monitoring
Key Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience at an investment bank, direct private infrastructure manager, or a solutions, multi-manager investing business
- Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Engineering and/or Economics or equivalent with a strong academic track record
- Demonstrate a strong interest in the real assets sector and multi-manager investing
- Fluency in English and the ability to communicate effectively with clients/stakeholders in the APAC region in local languages such as Mandarin, Japanese, and Korean is highly desirable
- Seasoned investment skills, highly numerate with developed quantitative capabilities and proven investment judgement
- A good understanding of leveraged finance / project finance modelling
- Existing network of fund managers, placement agents, clients or consultants in Asia Pacific
- Entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to assume leadership responsibilities
- Persuasive written and oral communication skills as well as precise manner of expression
- Ability to manage workload effectively and deliver quality work on schedule in a fast-paced environment with attention to details
- Strong communicator and team player with solid interpersonal skills and ability to delegate and motivate junior resources.
