Summary of duties Engage investors across a wide range of investment styles to understand objectives, processes, and support alpha generation. Research companies, sectors, and macroeconomic themes to determine how alternative data can help build actionable insights. Analyze structured and unstructured data in context of a research thesis. Discover unique datasets, analyze strengths/weaknesses, and make recommendations on relevant datasets. Demonstrate creativity in exploring investment ideas and scoping new data assets. Drive innovations across our platform to deliver best in class outcomes. Four (4) days in office and one (1) day remote per week.
Qualifications Masters degree in Engineering (any), Finance, or a related field, and four (4) years of experience as a Vice President, Data Engineering Vice President, Applied Analytics Associate, Data & Analytics Analyst Senior Software Engineer or a related role. Employer will also accept a Bachelors degree in Engineering (any), Finance, or a related field, and six (6) years of experience as a Vice President, Data Engineering Vice President, Applied Analytics Associate, Data & Analytics Analyst Senior Software Engineer or a related role. Four (4) years of experience with utilizing analytics to conduct research and provide insights for investment theses making recommendations on suitability of datasets to answer investment questions leveraging programming languages including Python and SQL to analyze structured and unstructured data and sets engaging, communicating, and collaborating with investors across different investment styles including equity, fixed income, and multi-assets and applying modern engineering techniques and tools including JupyterLab and PyCharm to analyze data. If qualifying with a Bachelors degree, must have six (6) years of experience with the aforementioned skills.

For New York City only The salary range for this position is $199,900 $214,500. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
