Responsibilities

Oaktree is looking for a Solutions Engineer to join the Investment and Trading Technology (ITT) group. The ideal candidate will play a hands-on role

Oaktree is on a multi-year journey to enhance our technology landscape by adopting modern tools and leveraging modern hosting solutions such as the public clouds. This job will directly impact how the ITT development community creates software that enhance our business outcome. The ideal candidate will know several software development languages and be able to translate abstract concepts to technical outcomes.

The candidate will be hands-on 90+% of the time.

  • This is a hands-on role as an individual contributor and responsibilities include technical leadership, insight, and mentoring to peers provide technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineers.
  • Drive the end-to-end solutions architecture design and ownership and articulate the design to the product owners, agile teams, and leadership.
  • Provide technical oversight, leading software development tasks such as peer and quality reviews of specifications, design documents and code review.
  • Develop and collaborate on establishing architecture standards, patterns, and practices to be used repeatedly across solutions in the ITT team.
  • Be a subject matter expert for development teams as part of implementation.
  • Document and maintain product architecture for solutions architecture and technology portfolio make recommendations for improvements and/or alternatives.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience working as a full-time software developer.
  • Experience in uplifting monolithic technology architecture to microservices.
  • Experience building interactive web applications and an interest in adopting modern technologies.
  • Experience with relational and/or non-relational database technologies.
  • Excellent programming and software design skills in object orientated programming.
  • Experience in developing and delivering API-based solutions.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools and containerization technologies
  • Experience writing asynchronous code.

Tech Stack

  • Knowledge in existing technology stack including .NET implementations. Azure and AWS Cloud, MS SQL Server, Azure DevOps CICD pipelines, MS Visual Studio IDE
  • Knowledge in future state technology architecture such as web API services, Java, Springboot, GraphQL, Angular, Bootstrap, JSON, MongoDB, Python, Secure Gateways, Messaging Systems (Kafka), etc.

Education

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or other related STEM subjects

Base Salary Range

$170,000 - $200,000

In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives, a

comprehensive benefits package

and a flexible work arrangement. The base salary offered will be commensurate with experience and/or qualifications, industry knowledge and expertise, as well as prior training and education.
