As a member of the Aladdin Data team, you will play a key role in defining and ensuring data principles and standards, implementing tools and technology to facilitate data evaluation and validation, managing data product strategy and roadmap, and engaging with stakeholders across all Data Products. As an Aladdin Data Steward Vice President, you will play a key role in defining data product strategy and roadmap, and engaging stakeholders across all Data Products. You will manage the product ideation, build process, gather requirements, design, solution, refine and work with engineers to develop and deliver on expected outcomes for personas. You will ensure development effort is aligned to the strategic roadmap of your product and communicate the product strategy, articulating the business benefits of all the work we do, and generate engagement and excitement around our plans.
Responsibilities
- Define and ensure that data principles and standards are met and that data capabilities are effectively utilized across all data phases.
- Manage data throughout its lifecycle from acquisition to consumption to drive data integrity, consistency, better decision making, reporting, and analysis.
- Translate requirements and acceptance criteria into data-specific specifications, including owning the design of the data model (conceptual, logical, standard).
- Apply data quality controls as upstream as possible and influence vendors to provide strategic coverage of their data products.
- Hold data providers (vendors/internal) accountable for upstream data quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement data-driven solutions that support business objectives.
- Own the intake of Reference Data ideas, assessing ideas within the defined SLAs.
- Gather requirements and define user stories and acceptance criteria through collaboration with Engineering, in line with Agile best-practices.
- Manage the product backlog, ensuring it hits KPI targets.
- Work with stakeholders, including Data Stewards and the Program team, to understand business priorities and correctly sequence development.
- Act as an escalation point for senior stakeholders, ensuring Data Product Delivery is visible, accessible, and able to respond to shifting business needs.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in financial services with exposure to business, middle office, or operations functions.
- Solid understanding of asset and risk management and financial instrument modelling across a reasonable subset of fixed income, equities, derivatives, and alternatives.
- Ability to flexibly balance priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong financial and quantitative abilities with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of data modelling and ETL techniques a plus.
- Exposure to agile methodology, data management, or service management, a plus.
- Exposure to asset management systems, preferably Aladdin, a plus.
- Strong understanding of financial instruments.
- Excellent leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in data mining and data architecture principles.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
