What is the opportunity?

The position works as part of RBC Capital Markets' Client and Marketing Strategy Group, reporting to the Head of Brand and Marketing, Europe on the strategic development, creation, implementation and execution of marketing tactics that support a broad range of RBC Capital Markets businesses in Europe.

The mandate will include creating and managing Capital Markets thought leadership and content campaigns in addition to product marketing campaigns and will include generating innovative ideas, providing marketing advice, developing effective marketing strategies, and implementing initiatives designed to support Investment Banking, Global Markets Institutional Sales, Macro and Spread, Debt Capital Markets, and Global Research in Europe.

The role holder will also work closely with the Head of Brand and Marketing, Europe on business and brand partnerships to ensure these are fully leveraged across the region and where relevant globally. They will also be responsible for regularly reviewing the effectiveness of the partnerships to maximize return on investment.

The role holder will have a dotted management line of a Marketing Analyst who will provide support to both the Director and VP.

What will you do?

  • Represent the regional businesses on global projects and campaigns from strategic program development to regional execution and reporting.
  • Be the global lead and project manager for specific marquee global marketing programs from strategic planning, budget development, content development to execution.
  • Work with senior-level business leaders and a team of cross-functional marketing partners Content Strategy, Campaigns, Media, Brand, PR, Events and Creative Services to execute strategic initiatives.
  • Work as a key senior member of the wider Brand and Marketing teams to support the business, promote our product offering and build the RBC brand across Europe
  • Develop effective presentations on various Marketing initiatives and programs to share with RBCCM leadership and other internal and external partners to gain input and buy-in.
  • Develop value propositions, positioning, messaging, and creative assets to align with client needs and business objectives.
  • Ensure messaging resonates with internal and external audience avoid jargon, lead with client benefits, create clarity and eliminate confusion.
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure positioning and messaging is consistent across all client touchpoints.
  • Create impactful marketing assets, collateral, and sales enablement materials that strengthen the brand, drive customer engagement and consideration, and grow the business.
  • Develop marketing product-related content for multi-channel campaigns across a wide variety of media, including brochures, pitch books, websites, videos, podcasts, email campaigns, sales enablement materials, and events.
  • Work collaboratively to deliver marketing campaigns for select products and services, successfully project managing campaign deliverables cross-functionally and globally within the firm, and with external agencies, from strategy to planning to execution.
  • Work with marketing analytics and performance teams to assess the effectiveness of marketing efforts.
  • Deliver creative, compelling and innovative marketing ideas that enhances positioning and impact of global marketing initiatives to drive revenue.
  • Manage asset development with internal creative teams or external agencies to ensure deliverables and deadlines are met.
  • Facilitate review and incorporation of feedback from stakeholders and compliance.
  • Strive for continuous improvement, constantly looking for ways to innovate, improve effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Prioritise and respond to requests from Sales, Banking and Product teams for new client-centric materials fact sheets, newsletters, and brochures. Manage and execute requests to update existing materials.
  • Coordinate with the global team to execute on a range of social media initiatives. This includes the tracking and planning of social media activity in Canada and executing on social posting through RBC Capital Markets corporate social media accounts.
  • Track marketing, social media and email metrics using various internal tools such as Google Analytics, Campaign Monitor, Marketo, LinkedIn, Twitter.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Bachelors degree required, or similar/equivalent
  • Extensive experience in B2B Financial Services Marketing or Management Consulting prior experience with Capital Markets, Asset Management or Institutional Investor firms preferred
  • Proven experience with Product Positioning
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think creatively and tactically to drive business outcomes
  • Strong writing and presentation skills
  • Possess excellent project management skills with experience in driving for results and consensus across a large number of stakeholders
  • Navigate effectively ambiguous situations and be resourceful and solutions-oriented
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while still maintaining strong attention to detail
  • Analyse and synthesise data to deliver meaningful insights to drive business decision-making ability to work on multiple projects/plans and work well under pressure.
