About the Analytics Stewardship Team
Analytics Stewardship team bring together the functional expertise and responsibilities within the Aladdin Data organization to ensure Aladdin's investment and risk analytics data are delivered with the highest standard of quality and scale. Critical stewardship of the analytics data is driven by the transformation of analytics data platform, continuous development of financial modeling, along with the evolving need of our clients.
Leveraging financial market and analytics subject matter expertise, data science and engineering knowledge, and data governance principles, the team designs and supports analytics data, which span across quality management, change management, meta data management, and problem management. The team is also responsible for onboarding of new financial models and analytics solutions on our enterprise data and analytics platform.
This role partners intimately with the data engineering and operations functions and requires close collaboration with BlackRock's broader analytics and modeling function i.e. Aladdin Financial Engineering team.
Responsibilities
- Work with analytics & modeling development teams to ensure new models meets business requirements and in compliant with our data quality policy
- Design data quality checks and performance metrics to assess data health, detect deficiencies, identify analytics model and platform improvement opportunities
- Ensure analytics readiness and completeness for front end BlackRock proprietary products like Green Package, Aladdin Studio etc
- Provide SME support for service and operation functions to facilitate troubleshooting and problem resolution that require specialized content knowledge and technical skills
- Work closely with analytics partners and users to stay abreast of new and evolving market and business requirements to ensure alignment of analytics data management priorities
- Manage deployment agenda, create/implement scale testing, and provide critical results and insights to facilitate the rollout and business/user adoption of Aladdin's quantitative financial models and analytics
- Provide analytics data and platform expertise in response to evolving business needs, market events, regulatory changes, and new financial products
- Partner with cross-functional teams to drive the implementation and operationalization of emerging analytics products, such as climate and private credit analytics
- Mentor and lead a team of 3-6 people
Experience
- 8+ years of experience in capital market, investments, or financial technology industry, managing investment, risk, and/or performance analytics from modeling, data, or services perspective
- Track record of working with financial markets, investment and risk analytics, and data management functions
- Experience in leading cross-functional initiatives, with strong communication skills and project management ability
- Understanding and experience in Risk Model Development Lifecyle
- Aladdin experiences from capital market, financial services firms, a plus
- Experience working within Agile project management frameworks is a plus (including tooling such as Azure DevOps)
Qualification
- Degree in finance, engineering, mathematics, quantitative or related discipline. Bachelor's degree is required. Advance degree preferred.
- Comfort with technical tools such as SQL, Python, Jupyter Notebook, Unix commands, Hadoop, Spark SQL, Power BI, etc.
- CFA or FRM designation is a plus
Skills
- Strong analytical skills and an ability to acquire knowledge about Aladdin's proprietary models, including fixed income analytics, multi-asset investment analytics, value-at-risk (VaR), and performance attribution
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and an ability to navigate the analytics platform for conducting analysis and deriving solutions
- Enthusiasm for, and comfort with, working in a high pressure and fast pace environment with entrepreneurial and team-oriented setting
- Strong project management skills
