Job Summary
The Training Specialist designs, implements, and facilitates training and leadership development curriculum and mandatory HR Training. This position ensures that training materials, job aids, and all associate training records, reports, and monthly audits are kept current and effective. The Specialist will also maintain the Learning Management System (LMS) and use instructional design software to create relevant eLearning material.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for New Associate Orientation and the in-person experience, including class management, trainer development, and curriculum.
- Collaborate across HR, Corporate Services, Compliance, and other departments to ensure a welcoming and engaging first-day experience.
- Design instructional material using creative visual, audio, and interactive learning tools, including training manuals, instructional videos, and curriculum.
- Consult with subject matter experts and department leads to create or redesign learning material that meets the Firms needs.
- Collaborate with Training teams across the Firm to identify process improvements, content enhancements, overlaps, and gaps in learning & delivery.
- Facilitate curriculum to various levels of employees in both a classroom and online setting using multiple forms of media.
- Research leading trends in instructional design, career development programs, and employee engagement initiatives to meet the Firms changing needs.
- Prepare and provide resources and materials for training programs requiring external research or vendor management.
- Contract with vendors for employee participation in outside training programs (i.e., Excel training).
- As needed, assist with department and Firm workshops, activities, and employee engagement events.
Qualifications
- Previous experience developing, designing, and facilitating training and development programs for eLearning, virtual, and classroom delivery.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proven ability to plan and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal relationship management skills (both written and verbal).
- Strong document and word processing, data and reporting, and digital content creation skills.
- Strong knowledge of learning theories and instructional or curriculum design models.
- Excellent training and group facilitation skills.
- Proactive thinking and planning with the ability to take the initiative and find solutions independently.
Education & Experience
- Minimum Required Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Training/learning, Instructional Design or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum Required 0-2 of experience in designing and facilitating employee-related training or professional development programs.
- Preferred 3+ years of experience in employee-related training or professional development programs
Systems & Technology
- Strong Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook skills.
- Knowledge of instructional design software and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Knowledge of Database Management and Learning Management Systems.
