The anticipated salary range for this role is between $76,000.00and $120,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
Role Description
The Securities Operations Group is seeking a Trade Processing Associate.
The individual hired will be primarily responsible for providing Middle Office support for USD and non-USD Fixed income and Futures products.
The role may also include opportunities to become involved in support for additional products and business lines.
This is a contract role.
Role Objectives
- Sales and Trading Support as part of the Trade Processing team in Operations for Fixed Income US and Non-US products
- Support the Settlement team for settlement related issues
- Maintain/open/close client account (and sub accounts) in Middle Office systems (BBG Toms/Impact)
- Allocate trades in Middle Office systems, book to Back Office system, and send preliminary reports
- Communication with clients for allocations and issues via email/BBG/phone
- Liaison with other branches and departments
- Other peripheral (clerical) tasks including report generation, Trade Reconciliation and Restricted Security List updates
- Cross training as a back-up support member for trade processing of other product businesses including fixed income
- Knowledge of the US Treasury auction process and WI security setup and its workflows
- Input FED Treasury Auction House Bids and Customer Bids into TAAPS for Treasury trader and Sales team.
- Review and maintain all Auction award bookings and ensure all auctions trading books are flat
- Advise and action any discrepancies for all Federal Reserve Auction Awards
- documentation and communication for audit purposes
- Maintain and record all FED auctions
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in Fixed Income products and futures
- Understanding settlement cycle in relation to DTC, FED and local market settlement
- Good Communication Skills
- Ability to multitask
- Good knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PDF)
- Knowledge of BBG TOMS, Omgeo CTM, Pershing, Netx360, Broadridge Impact, Collateral/Margin
- Flexibility to work as an early shift/late shift
- Flexibility to be involved in projects and learning new products and roles proactively
