About this role

This is a position with the converged infrastructure (block, file, object, virtualization) administration, operations, hygiene, technology refresh, upgrades and production support team in India. This team performs operations, technology refresh, patching and hygiene activities on converged infrastructure (block, file, object, virtualization). This is a 12/7/365 team that works in shifts on rotation basis, weekend night shifts may also be a part of the duties of this engineer. Reporting on daily activities, warm shift hand-offs, monthly metrics reporting, coordination with US, India resources for getting the days job done. This position demands in office expectation.

In this role, you will

  • Deliver key objectives related to transformation, availability, risk / governance, life cycle management
  • Provides support for highly complex ESX, Block, File & Object storage support and Maintenance Activities
  • Ability to troubleshoot advanced ESX, Block, File & Object storage hardware and software issues independently and provide alternative solutions
  • Well Experienced in using diagnostic tools to maintain, troubleshoot and restore service or data to converged infrastructure (block, file, object, virtualization) systems
  • Having Knowledge on Application Infrastructure and isolate the problems working with other Support Groups
  • Good Understanding of Infrastructure Service Management Processes (Incident/Change/Problem Management)
  • Evaluates service level agreement criteria and identifies gaps in current technology process and Provides recommendations
  • Encourages Process Documentations for Team Activities and provide direction in documenting the Knowledge
  • Maintains change or issue logs analyzes trends and recommends process improvements and assist in implementing improvements
  • Ability to Communicate and Co-ordinate with multiple support teams and business communications
  • Ability to make quick and accurate decisions, including the appropriate escalation of critical issues
  • Partner with Stateside and other support groups for team level projects and Initiatives for planning and Resource Mgmt

Required Qualifications, International

  • University degree in technical or related discipline.
  • Experience of more than 8 years in Block, File, Object storage administration.
  • Familiar with virtualization (ESX), Block storage (EMC, Hitachi, Brocade, Cisco), File (Oracle ZFS, Netapp), Object (Netapp, Hitachi) and converged infrastructure

Desired Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of experience in Plan, Build, Life Cycle Management, Operate & Maintain
  • Familiar with virtualization (ESX), Block storage (EMC, Hitachi, Brocade, Cisco), File (Oracle ZFS, Netapp), Object (Netapp, Hitachi) and converged infrastructure
  • Familiar with programming knowledge such as Perl, Python, Shell scripting.
  • Good understanding of DevOps tools like Puppet , Ansible, Docker, Github & Jenkins.
  • Good understanding of Cloud technologies like OpenStack, Azure, AWS and Cloud Foundry.
  • Advance level of experience with Block, File & Object storage troubleshooting
