What is the scope of the Strategic Partner Relationship Manager role?
- Serve as the day-to-day relationship contact for an critical supplier
- Serve as the key point of contact for our Client Facing teams to help support and coordinate brokerage related questions with brokerage operations team, and support RFP inquiries.
- Contribute to driving our business goals as the product owner of our third-party brokerage offer.
- Oversee contractual obligations and guardrails of our relationship
- Partner with key vendor contacts to determine relationship expectations, product enhancements and strategic objectives for the brokerage offer.
- Negotiate key client requests and operational expectations.

- Has strong relationship management and communication skills.
- Strong brokerage industry experience.
- Ability to work autonomously and think strategically.
- Ability to consider external partnership & industry implications to our business, client relationships, and broader Vanguard strategies.
- Ability to influence and advocate for the betterment of our clients' experience.
- Awareness of the brokerage industry regulations and innovations for Vanguard consider for our service offer.
- Comfortable working with clients and client teams to represent the Vanguard Institutional brokerage offer.
- Builds relationships with people at all levels internally and externally with ease and comfort.
Core Responsibilities
- Manages projects or multiple workstreams within a broader project or program. Develops, implements, and monitors project plans. Contributes expertise to major project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks.
- Provides insight on best practices and common obstacles based on prior experiences. Serves as a trusted advisor to ensure projects are aligned with the overall company strategy and market conditions.
- Communicates project status and issues regularly to stakeholders, including leaders, team members, and senior managers.
- Builds and maintains effective relationships. Proactively fosters communication between internal and external project stakeholders. Influences key decisions across stakeholder groups.
- Proactively identifies, manages, and mitigates risks and any related project issues. Communicates solutions on key issues or projects to management and stakeholders to obtain their input and buy-in as appropriate.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum of five years related work experience. Two years of managing a project preferred. Financial Services and function-specific experience preferred.
Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience required. Graduate degree preferred.
