The Opportunity

As a Strategic Business Analyst for the Lending and Banking Services team, you will develop a comprehensive knowledge of the lending and deposits business and the products across the organization. You will lead partnership with internal stakeholders such as the business, finance, operations, and enterprise technology to ensure standards and best practices are followed and seek to utilize efficient solutions for data reporting. You will review and be cognizant of systems gaps and limitations, while considering resource impacts during both planning and implementation.

You will report to the Head of Lending and Banking Services within MassMutual Wealth Management. You will work with lending and cash-focused teammates in the Wealth Management division

The Impact

The Strategic Business Analyst for Lending & Banking Services will focus on proactively assessing business needs, gathering data, and providing analysis for MassMutual's Deposits and Lending product strategy. The team executes the cash product focus for the firm which is a key component of MassMutual's revenue strategy. In your position, you will help enhance MassMutual's Lending and Banking offerings and play an integral role by providing valuable insights on products strategy and implementation. A primary focus will be helping to lead the support and growth of the 2024 lending strategy, while helping to uncover areas for enhancement and develop solutions across the team's high-impact strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities include

  • Assess and communicate requirements across all levels of the organization, comfortable interacting with vendors, business partners, operations and IT
  • Gather and analyze data for business growth and enhancements by identifying business opportunities
  • Use research and analytics to identify client and advisor needs and provide recommendations for enhancements to the product related features, services, processes, policies, forms, and procedures to meet them
  • Partner with Lending and Banking Services business leads to develop and enhance reports, tracking, and dashboards to help others better understand business performance including forecasting, revenue growth, cost savings, and sensitivity analyses
  • Provide recommendations based on factual evidence to enhance existing products and support efforts to bring new products to market, in collaboration with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Explore multiple solutions to a problem and present and defend solutions based on an analysis of facts and an understanding of both client needs and business needs
  • Understand the cash product marketplace, including competitive and regulatory developments support the interest rate committee in analyzing the competitive environment for cash products and use competitive environment to inform product management recommendations
  • Comprehend both product and associated technological needs and use analytics to address those needs

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of experience in product management and/or data analytics within a diversified financial services environment including areas in both banking and wealth management
  • 1+ year of experience with SQL/Python or like data management tool
  • 1+ year of experience working collaboratively with various groups within Wealth Management
  • Due to the nature of this position, as a part of our background check process, candidates must be able to pass a non-registered fingerprint background check to qualify as a fingerprinted person under FINRA
