Storage Engineer Team Lead

In this role you will be responsible to provide engineering solutions in the infrastructure space with responsibility for the Systems and/or Storage environment. Providing design & configuration solutions as well as day-to-day upgrades & administration. Responsible for capacity planning, disaster recovery, and security where necessary. Have experience with operating systems, network protocols and configurations, and/or hubs, switches, and routers, Netapp NAS and SAN, Pure Storage and Dell Elastic Cloud. Knowledge of related technologies like VMWare, Windows, Unix/Linux, and databases is preferred. Validate and test Architecture and Design solutions to produce detailed engineering specifications with recommended design and vendor technologies and provide level 3 support to Storage operations team.

The role will also be responsible to lead the team in Chicago and provide direction and guidance to the team. The role have direct responsibility for the policies and procedures, as well as ensuring appropriate test regimes are planned and executed. These individuals have extensive experience with large-scale enterprise environments and the related HW/SW issues.

Knowledge/Skills

Candidate must have

  • Experience with Storage Technologies like Hitachi, Pure Storage, Brocade and Cisco
  • Experience in automating and managing infrastructure components using Ansible.
  • top-notch written and verbal communication skills,
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience with storage monitoring and management tools
  • Motivated with strong organizational skill

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or any related discipline is required, along with about six years of experience in a company's storage environment.
  • Experience with disaster recovery technologies and data replication.
  • Knowledge of backup and recovery tools
  • At least 3 years in designing and implementing enterprise class storage solutions for a large company
  • At least 2 years in a Team Lead position
  • Knowledge and understanding of cloud storage is a plus
  • Candidate should be familiar with technology infrastructure
  • (Servers/Storage/Network)
