The Sr. Software Engineer at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Milwaukee, WI will analyze, design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software applications. Work closely with product managers, business analysts, and engineering colleagues to understand and refine business requirements. Participate in daily scrum meetings, prioritize, assign, and execute tasks ensuring timely completion of development tasks within each sprint while working in an agile development framework. Drive requirements refinement, design, planning, estimation, development, testing, and deployment of transactional, data-intensive backend software products and services. Develop JAVA, J2EE, Spring, and Spring Boot based applications. Build, document, and support robust RESTful and SOAP APIs. Implement APIs in business-driven development (BDD) methodology for seamless integration with external systems, enabling efficient data exchange and improving customer experience. Write automated unit, functional, integration, and regression tests while collaborating with test engineers using technologies such as JUnit, Selenium, Cucumber. Continuous integration and continuous delivery (CICD) of software products using DevOps tools including GIT, Artifactory, and JIRA. Author and update Maven and Gradle builds for seamless deployment of artifacts to non-production and production environments. Apply cloud computing and leadership skillset to contribute to modernization effort. Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior software engineers. Oversee code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices. Telecommuting permitted 2 days per week. Salary $123,386- $203,840 per year.
