Job Description

You will partner with IT and assigned HR and Payroll business line(s) to assess, research, analyze and document business and systems needs in order to resolve HR and Payroll business systems issues by recommending business solutions that meet sponsor/stakeholder needs.

What will you do?

  • This position will provide primary support for the SAP Payroll module
  • This includes all aspects of the payroll processing function, such as configuration of wage types for payroll payments and deductions (for benefits, court mandated items, etc..), Canadian year-end processing, and general support of Payroll Operations.
  • Support SAP configuration, testing and support all fixes and enhancements to these areas testing and support for the annual SAP support pack implementations and for Year End OSS notes.
  • Act as Functional HR & Payroll Lead for any On boarding and off boarding of employees for acquisitions and divestitures
  • Perform duties aligned with the business systems analyst role which includes second level incident support, development of business requirements documents, process maps, application testing, and training.
  • Perform duties aligned with the Senior Business Systems Analyst roles and responsibilities within SAP's Competency Center.
  • Devise or modify procedures to solve complex systems problem and be responsible for aligning technology solutions with business strategies.
  • Partner with the functional groups within the IT organization to communicate and clarify business needs, contribute to development of long-range system plans, and ensure products and services are aligned with business needs.
  • Work with an individual business unit or on multi-project assignments and guide and advise less experienced Business Systems Analysts.
  • Facilitate small to large meetings
  • Effectively communicate and build rapport with team members, stakeholders and business partners using a variety of techniques and collaboration from initiation to close.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Solid understanding of the SAP Payroll schema, SAP Dynamic Actions, SAP Features.
  • Hands on experience solving complex payroll changes, including retro-active payroll processing, payroll splits, financial mappings, GL postings and Third Party Remittance.
  • Familiarity with Canadian payroll rules and legislation.
  • Expertise with other SAP modules that impact payroll (PA, PD, Time, Benefits, Compensation, Finance).
  • 5+ years experience in a business or functional analyst role with a minimum of 2 years experience researching SAP HR Payroll related issues, developing process maps, completing configuration, creating technical development specs, performing application testing, gathering business requirements, and handling change management activities in support of SAP HR Payroll processes.

Nice to Have

  • SAP HR Academy Accreditation
  • Working knowledge of ABAP
  • Experience with SAP Time Evaluation functionality
  • Experience on SAP ECC 6.0 and SAP NWDS and SAP Portal ITS
  • Awareness of consistent user experience with other SAP transactions
  • Experience with SAP tools (e.g. email notifications, workflow, portal)
  • Working knowledge of integration points with other SAP modules as well as ESS and MSS.
