The Network Architect will proactively research and evaluate tools and technologies, as appropriate, to the network environment, while developing solutions to increase performance, availability and lower the total cost of ownership. The individual in this role is expected to keep abreast of industry trends, technology innovation, and changing customer requirements to provide effective solutions mapped to business outcomes.
The Network Architect will translate logical designs into physical designs, taking into account of requirements, target environments, processes, performance requirements, existing systems and services, and non-functional requirements such as capacity, availability and performance. The Network Architect provides technical design guidance and leadership to engineering teams and acts as the ultimate escalation point for network issues. The Network Architect functions as the technical escalation point of contact for the infrastructure teams, application development teams, and leadership.
This role will provide trouble resolution of the global network for escalated issues and may perform on-call duties and off-hours support when needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or equivalent of a 4-year accredited degree in a technical discipline.
- 15+ years of experience with managing, designing solutions within an IP network with a 4-year Bachelor of Science degree or 20+ years relevant experience with IP networks CCIE certification in either Routing and Switching or Data Center technology
- 15+ years of experience with routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, Protocol independent-sparse mode, PIM-Dense Mode, MP-BGP and EVPN preferred. Experience with SD WAN.
- 15+ years of experience with Layer 2 protocols (VPC, Datacenter Zones, Spanning tree, VRF, VTP, VLANs, physical cabling)
- 15+ years of experience with WAN/LAN and transport technologies (Ethernet, MPLS, DWDM, etc).
- 10+ years of working knowledge security technologies including IPSec,IKE v1 and IKE v2, Kerberos, SSH, RADIUS,TACACS+, VPDN's, PKI , AAA , VPN Using IPSec, etc. Strong technical knowledge of network control protocols (QOS, PfR, PoE, NTP, DHCP), network management protocols (CDP, FTP, TFTP, SNMP) and security protocols (SSH, HTTPS, AAA, IPSec, TrustSec). Extensive experience with Cisco Catalyst and Nexus Switching platforms as well as Juniper MX routers, and Aruba switches.
In depth implementation and troubleshooting experience of IP networks and the ability to think critically in high pressure, confidential environments.

Ability to think proactively and solve problems independently. Ability to provide 24x7 support and work out of normal business hours (evenings/weekends) as needed.
Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with the ability to work well in a collaborative environment. Strong relationship building skills conducive to team development Demonstrated strong listening and collaboration skills for uncovering technology trends and evolving disruptions. Experience leading and collaborating with global technical teams across many regions Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly and accurately ascertain risks and form responses.
