Major Duties

The network manager is responsible for the

position sits within the Western Hemisphere regional Network Management team.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and developing relationships with all agent banks and third party network providers e.g. subcustodians, account operators, central depositories, tri-party agents, payment banks.
  • For all third party providers, manage service levels and perform
  • due diligence risk assessments.
  • maintain core risk management, relationship and expertise benefits, expand relationship generation, strengthen expertise on how markets operate, and support market advocacy.
  • Perform onsite visits (travel required) to
  • Ensuring assets are protected and held through correct account structures.
  • Managing local market environment relating to the operational, legal, regulatory and infrastructure environment, and
  • preparing/communicating
  • Provision of consulting services to internal/external partners seeking information and guidance to navigate through operational, regulatory and infrastructure conditions associated with investing in global markets.
  • Contribute to lobbying efforts to influence market change and developments.
  • Support negotiation of legal documentation and lead fee reviews/negotiation.
  • Where applicable, perform market provider RFPs and also new market reviews to support expansion of Northern's network coverage.
  • Market evolution and digital assets to support (i) market evolution and industry change initiatives covering both traditional and digital assets, (ii) foster education in relation to market and digital asset evolution, and (iii) opportunity identification with agent banks, market infrastructures and other market entities.
  • Strategically and operationally support Northern Trust business units.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Proven knowledge and demonstrated expertise across global custody / securities services.
  • Seasoned professional expert with extensive technical/business knowledge and functional expertise.
  • Ability to manage external relationships.
  • Comfortable presenting in front of subcustodians, clients and internal
  • stakeholders/management.
  • Demonstrate strong risk management competency level.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
  • Demonstrate leadership/ownership skills.
