Consultant, Financial Reporting

Job Description Summary

As a Financial Reporting Consultant, you will be responsible for the accounting/reporting component of key client relationships. As the main CVR contact for these clients, you will be responsible for client communication about reporting, managing small projects, process improvements, participating in client meetings, tracking KPIs, and maintaining internal documentation. Consultants are also assigned to New/Additional Business events and will serve as the CVR lead throughout the transition.

Major Duties

  • Acts as first point of reference for client inquiries
  • Provides accounting consulting guidance both internally and externally
  • Serves as a liaison to related areas and helps facilitate monthly close cycle
  • Carries out relatively complex, extensive, high-profile activities e.g. direct interaction with top revenue clients and more senior management
  • Focuses on technical and reporting knowledge, building toward becoming a subject matter expert

Qualifications

  • Must reside in or near Chicago and be able to report into the office three times weekly (Choice of days is flexible)
  • Willing to travel to client visits
  • Strong working knowledge of reporting and products
  • Client facing experience with the ability to present detailed concepts
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Proven analytical, consultative, and problem-solving skills
  • Organized and able to manage time and meet deadlines
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
