What is the FTT Advisor Digital Solutions Technology group responsible for? FTT Advisor Digital Solutions Technology group is responsible for development and support of Portfolio Analytics Tool and Competitor Profile Library to enable the working of Portfolio Solutions group and Internal Sales.

What is Architect responsible for? We are seeking a highly motivated and technical architect with solid experience in building technology for Digital Solutions Technology group. Architect will be responsible for defining, maintaining, and documenting the architecture for one or more applications. Plays key leading role in defining and maintaining the application's responsibilities, elements, externally visible properties, principles of design and evolution, and relations to other technology components in the enterprise. Defines and documents project solution architectures with multiple cooperating applications leads design and development of proof of concepts and conducts package evaluations.

Defines and maintains application and solution architectures that achieve desired architectural attributes (e.g., maintainability, scalability, performance, adaptability), delivers descriptive and visual architecture artifacts and communicates clearly to concerned stakeholders how the architecture achieves these attributes.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of Architect?

Responsibilities include

Partner with product owners, technical leads, engineers, and other teams to develop complex software components and advise developers on coding standards and guidelines.

Lead or contribute to designs applied to all aspects of business systems, and/or infrastructure prototypes and eventual implementation.

Work with product owner / business partner to understand the business processes / expectations and architect the solutions

Work with product owner to design and develop software solutions/interfaces to meet business needs and assist in managing the product back.

Participate in sprint planning, release planning, and prioritization of work on the platform.

Hands-on development, data modelling, code quality, static code analysis, unit testing, design and code reviews, continuous integration, release management, performance tuning and execution.

Comprehensive involvement in application lifecycle phases including DevOps process, release deployments and support.

Design, prototype and code new software components and applications based on functional specifications across the full stack services, web and API, infrastructure, and back-end.

Coordinate with analyst teams and vendors to execute test plans and provide support during user acceptance testing.

Be a highly collaborative, team-oriented, and strong consensus builder demonstrate an ability to partner across groups, regions, and functions.

Proactively engage with key stakeholders to understand business processes

Write unit tests to ensure that a high-quality product is delivered.

On occasions, be available outside of normal office hours to troubleshoot and resolve critical issues that impacts business workflow.

Plan and coordinate cross-team activities to complete assignments.

Keep abreast of technology and advise senior management on technical implementation.

Mentor junior developers and technical staff.

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

Ideal candidates will have

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, and/or Information Technology related fields.

Excellent development experience with React / Next / TypeScript / NodeJS is required

Excellent development experience with Python / MongoDB is required.

Excellent Database knowledge and working experience on MongoDB

A minimum of 12+ years of progressive software development.

Solid understanding of RESTful web services.

Substantial knowledge in building out application within bi-weekly Agile sprint regiment.

Strong knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Agile development and DevOps frameworks.

Strong knowledge of AWS platform and services

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think quickly and offer alternatives both independently and within teams.

Proven ability to work quickly in a dynamic environment with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Highly motivated and able to work independently.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Previous experience working in Asset Management Industry is a plus.

Allocation of time spent

Strategy and Architecture (20%) Develops deep understanding of business capabilities, business priorities, process, organization, and information that the assigned applications support. Creates project solution and application architecture deliverables that are consistent with architecture principles, standards, methodologies, and technology organizations best practices. Develops and maintains application architecture including product roadmap, using easily communicated graphic representations. Ensure project solution architectures accurately reflect the responsibilities, externally visible properties, and interfaces of assigned applications. Leads product evaluations to assess the merits of various solution options against technical requirements, business criteria, and managing tradeoffs. Develops deep knowledge of data entities and data flows of primary and associated applications. Oversees technical design specifications for complex off-the-shelf and/or custom-developed applications (Required)

Architect / POC / Code Review (40%) Guide the team with solutions and architecture. Create the POC where needed. Code review and guidance to the team (Required)

Governance (10%) Reviews and provides guidance for architecture descriptions defined by others. Ensures adherence to domain architecture and guidelines. Ensures that established standards for products, platforms, and methods of work and architectural principles are adhered to in solution architectures. Provides input to the development of project documents including objectives, scope, approach, estimates, assumptions, risks, and dependencies (Required)

Innovation (10%) On a vendor package, stays abreast of changes in application package and vendor landscape, and provides guidance to vendor on specific Franklin Templeton usage and requirements of product. Stays aware of technology and software trends, application architecture methodologies and techniques, advocating for adoption of new products, standards, and frameworks for internal applications where appropriate to stay competitive and support continuous improvement. Analyzes and prepares recommendations to address existing and potential trouble areas in system as part of a continuous improvement process in consideration of changes in business environment, improvements in scalability, availability, maintainability, and TCO drivers Identifies need for and conducts POCs on new/emerging application architecture and development frameworks (Required)

Stakeholder Engagement (20%) Develops strong relationships with key business partners. Collaborates with domain architects in the development of domain and enterprise level architectural artifacts. Collaborates

closely with the applications lead engineers to ensure design and architecture are in sync and inform each other. Provides technical guidance and works with IT development staff to address challenges that arise, especially when broad/systemic impact are critical to system success (Required)
