The Opportunity
As a Social Impact Intern you will work in a collaborative environment on corporate philanthropy, impact measurement, and associate volunteer initiatives. As a member of our team, you will use data and analytics to derive insights for making better data-informed decisions around grantmaking and volunteer activities. You'll also support the strategy, planning and execution for associate volunteer activities.
The Team
The Community Culture and Impact team has roles leading our corporate volunteer program, community/business integration, and impact measurement for all of MassMutual's community giving and social impact. The team interacts regularly with People Analytics, Strategic Giving, Impact Investing, and Marketing & Brand. This team is motivated by creating lasting connections between associates and the community that reinforces our commitment to Live Mutual.
The Impact
- Research best practices, industry trends, and competitive benchmarks that will allow our team to improve our programs.
- Prepare analysis of social impact programs based on cost, effort, and impactto demonstrate the value of our programs,
- Identify gaps and trends in our social impact programs to help us improve.
- Develop report to demonstrate business unit level integration with social impact programs
- Investigate additional data needed to measure our social impact programs so we are able to tell a holistic impact story.
The Minimum Qualifications
- Currently pursuing undergraduate or graduate degree in data science, data analytics, social impact, sustainability, business analytics or related field
- Ability to work 40 hours per week over the summer
The Ideal Qualifications
- Ability to analyze and synthesize raw data quickly and accurately
- Ability to create dynamic and high end visualization to communicate data story effectively
- Passion for driving data informed progress towards social impact
