Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily and long-term operational and strategic management of software licenses.
- Plan, monitor, and record software license to make sure they complied with vendor contracts in different software tools.
- Oversight of software license agreements, ensuring adherence to terms and conditions. Collaborate with software vendors for license procurement, usage tracking, and assessment of license needs.
- Utilize software usage data analysis to discover optimization opportunities, such as reclaiming inactive licenses or implementing license pooling strategies. Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance.
- Apply a continuous improvement approach in enhancing the strategies employed in technology spending, as well as in tracking company assets within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) based on standard software lifecycle management.
- Gather data and report effectiveness of IT asset management processes using pre-defined KPIs/metrics.
- Assist stakeholders in solutions to business needs for hardware and software cascades and technology charge backs.
- Onboard new software vendors for BAU Governance by collaborating with Procurement and Line of Business Operations teams to create a baseline inventory of entitlements and deployments.
- Creation of process guidelines/documentation and procedures to mature the Ameriprise TI asset management area.
- Provide recommendations on licensing strategies, reconciliation, and license entitlement re-harvesting for clients.
- Effective communication and data articulation to be used during internal and external licensing reviews.
Preferred Knowledge
- Proficient in managing any of Tier-1 (Microsoft, IBM, VMware, RedHat) publishers, as well as SAAS applications.
- Knowledge of IT Asset Management tool like ILMT, Service Now, Flexera/Aspera etc.
- Experience in creating and managing dashboard using MS Power Bi.
- Hands-on experience in preparing Effective License Position report for major vendors.
Qualifications
- Bachelors/master's degree in computer science/Information Systems or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of Excel, Access and reporting tools is required.
- SAM Tool Operational knowledge and Certification is preferred.
- Strong written & verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Independent problem-solving ability & handling complex analysis.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks & effective coordination.
- Sound industry knowledge and ability to apply it in analysis.
