What will you do?
- Work on and assist with state and local examinations by responding to information requests or performing other related analysis (as needed), as well as responding to state and local tax notices.
- Review and/or prepare state and local tax returns as required, in a manner that ensures compliance with tax laws and regulations review estimates and extension work papers and review indirect tax returns (e.g. GRT, CRT and B&O).
- Assist with the assessment/estimate of SALT exposures/planning and development of audit positions.
- Perform basic to moderate tax research and analysis relating to state and local tax laws. This includes preliminary interpretation of new state and local tax law changes and related impact on RBC entities.
- Organize and maintain state and local internal resources and controls (e.g. matrices) including but not limited to updates on state/local tax rate changes, apportionment methodologies, state modification methodologies, etc.
What do you need to succeed?
- Minimum 4-6 years of experience in a Big Four or other public accounting firm or equivalent industry experience. Tax background and / or financial institution experience is a plus.
- Minimum 4-6 years of experience with US state and local corporate income tax and sales and use tax. Experience with combined/unitary and multi-state issues is a plus.
- High level of competence in tax software systems and tax research systems such as OneSource, CCH and RIA Checkpoint.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelors degree in accounting. CPA and/or other advanced degree in tax or accounting is a plus.

This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance and paid time-off plan.
The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is
$100,000-$160,000
