Job Title Senior Sales Associate - GFO
Job Profile Summary
Assist Wealth Strategists with all aspects of the sales process relating to identification of potential prospects, executing deliverables to engaged prospects, and any other project work that is relevant to the strategic growth goals of the Global Family Office (GFO) practice.
Primary duties will include assisting Wealth Strategists with seeking prospects combined with active calling efforts researching and uncovering potential prospects preparing materials for client meetings and new business presentations coordination of sales activities around seminars, COI cultivation, community and bank sponsored events responsible for reviewing new business documentation prepared by sales associates model pricing on new opportunities and ensures that the sales process is managed in a timely manner.
Obtain strong understanding and knowledge on asset servicing, investment management, fiduciary and other matters.
Major Duties
1. Researches prospects through online sources, including WealthX, FINTRX, and other platforms to identify connectivity and biographical information
2. Prepare deliverables (marketing updates, slide decks, etc.) for prospect, COI or client meetings and presentations.
3. Ensures that pipeline is kept up to date and effectively captures all new business opportunities
4. Makes necessary arrangements for prospect, COI or client meetings involving travel, audio-visual aides, seminar/lunch/dinner reservations, meetings, seminars, etc.
5. Reviews and organizes all asset/family information and trust documents to assess the bank's appointment status, and any discrepancies between documents. Reviews all correspondence and accompanying documentation from prospects and attorneys to assimilate all possible information about new business opportunity.
6. Works with Wealth Strategists to maintain active prospect files and reminders to initiate calls for making forward progress.
7. Communicates with partner areas on all aspects of a prospect/client relationship and initiates activity which fulfills a partner's or client's needs.
8. Responds to individual prospects/clients inquiries and respond through written correspondence or via telephone.
9. Develop in-depth knowledge of a full range of trust-oriented services (e.g. personal trusts, living trusts, wills, investment management, security custody, financial consulting, estate and tax planning). Attend meetings and classes to keep abreast of personal financial planning products and services.
10. Assist in special projects as requested by GFO executive team and sales leadership. These may require additional research, engagement of other parts of the organization, and coordination of resources across Northern Trust
Knowledge
- Basic knowledge of asset servicing, personal financial planning, trust and investment products and services are required to perform primary duties.
- Knowledge of the bank computer applications (Outlook, Salesforce, Microsoft Office Suite) is required to generate sales reports and databases.
- Organizational and personal computer skills are necessary to prepare materials for prospect and COI meetings and presentations.
- Knowledge of the duties performed within the various departments and divisions of the bank acquired through work experience is required to direct inquiries and requests for client-related information.
- Analytical, organizational and sales skills are required to proactively manage the sales process. Interactive skills are required to understand prospect needs and respond with the appropriate solutions.
Experience
- Undergraduate Degree or equivalent experience
- Strong computer skills, Salesforce experience preferred
- 2-5 years of financial services sales or relationship management experience
