The Senior Paid Media Strategist will play a key role in optimizing marketing investment, implementing best practices, and integrating with marketing technology across Vanguard's Personal Investor line of business. Reporting to the Head of Paid Media Strategy, Personal Investor this role will work closely with multiple stakeholders to execute marketing strategy across Paid Media channels in order to drive growth and value of both Self Directed and Advised client bases. The Senior Paid Media Media Strategist helps deliver and implement media strategy, budgeting, executing, reporting, ongoing campaign optimization, and collaboration with other Paid Media Strategists. They will play a critical role in delivering on the business KPIs for Marketing and helping improve the ROI on Vanguard's Paid Media investment.

A Senior Paid Media Strategist

  • Individually leads the creation and execution of media advertising strategies to attract prospects to Vanguard products and service offerings while also helping our client base adopt more products and services
  • Creates paid media plans by translating business objectives into defined paid media goals, strategies, and tactics. Aligns paid media marketing activity with understanding of sales strategy, both online and offline (call centers).
  • Manages the team to ensure excellent media management, quality assurance, campaign analysis, and performance
  • Transforms campaign metrics and market research into actionable customer insights, observations, and implications
  • Leads the development and implementation of campaign measurement plans to track, report on, and optimize results
  • Accountable for on-time, on-budget campaigns, and quality assurance of ad placements
  • Develops positive working relationships within the department, across the company, and with our agency partners and media vendors
  • Helps lead internal meetings with media team to communicate and manage priorities
  • Serve as the lead voice for Paid Media strategy and best practices when collaborating with internal stakeholders including Product Owners, Engagement Strategist, Business leads, and more.
  • Creates and maintain media documents flowcharts, timelines, RFPs, POVs, plan

  • Provides timely feedback and performance reporting to internal stakeholders
  • Stay apprised of industry standards, new media programs/trends, and competitive landscape
  • Ensure paid media campaigns adhere to compliance and legal standards working closely with these key business functions to monitor and approve all communications

What it takes

  • Minimum of five years of cumulative media planning experience required and at least two years of
  • supervisory/management
  • Undergraduate degree in Marketing or equivalent experience. Graduate degree preferred.
  • Strong direct paid media channel management experience required
  • Ideal candidates will have experience developing strategies and capabilities to mitigate the impact of digital cookie deprecation
  • Sees bigger picture of media, understands broader digital advertising concepts and the industry landscape
  • Effective communicator, confident in ability to act as a decisionmaker for Paid Media and present confidently to Marketing leaders and business stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills including media performance evaluation and insight development
  • In depth understanding of media buying tools and common digital platforms (Google, Adobe, Meta, DSPs, Doubleclick).
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint Excel and Word
  • Self-motivated excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking capabilities a must
  • Strict attention to detail, work quality, and deadlines
  • Experience in financial services vertical, or regulated industries, a plus

This is a hybrid role with Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday in the Malvern office and Monday and Friday are remote.
