Role Summary
Works with senior management to ensure compliance with tax regulations. Assigned tax activities are highly complex. Demonstrates extensive knowledge of tax best practices and a specialized understanding of the end-to-end tax processes and has a conceptual understanding of which tools and systems are used in resolving associated issues. Advises and guides less experienced professionals and may direct their work.
Responsibilities
- Performs the research, analysis, and interpretation of tax laws and cases to provide management with recommendations and opinions by applying tax concepts
- Works directly with inside and outside counsel to develop tax planning strategies and tax return filing positions. Prepares tax memoranda to document tax positions.
- Uses existing strategic relationships to influence at all levels of the organization. Liaises with lines of businesses and reporting vendors to ensure proper reporting of tax information.
- Responsible for providing guidance to junior team members to improve their performance.
- Ensures tax financial disclosure is in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. In partnership with management, establishes the organizations tax strategy and is accountable for ensuring the implementation of that strategy in a way that minimizes tax liability and alleviates or reduces tax burden while minimizing global regulatory and audit risk. Leverages highly complex tax techniques to achieve business objectives.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelors degree AND
- 8+ years of total relevant work experience
Preferred
- CPA, Master Degree in Taxation, or Law Degree
FINRA Requirements
FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.
Work Flexibility
This role is eligible for remote work up to two days a week.
