Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing technical roadmaps, policies, standards, engineering procedures and blueprints for relevant network environments.
  • Responsible for technical delivery planning of large, complex transformation projects.
  • Responsible for life-cycle engineering roadmap of environments.
  • Responsible for managing a team of engineers including and not limited to training\development plans, objective setting, appraisals and ensuring mandatory is completed.
  • Responsible for working with external vendors to drive solutions that are fit for purpose for the business.
  • Responsible for providing governance over other teams where applicable
  • Have a mentality for continuous improvement and always striving to drive improvements in both technology and process, both inside and outside of the team.
  • Knowledge and experience on documentation repositories such as Confluence.
  • Knowledge and experience of Agile working practices.
  • Handle/Drive security incidents calls, handle escalations, or any other security related issues.
  • Escalation resource during major incidents and outages as needed.
  • Provide after-hours on-call management support and participate in emergent large scale event response when needed.
  • Participate in re-occurring security audits and reviews.
  • Provide inputs on security methodologies, policies, and procedures.
  • Communicate with senior leadership on the status of security BAU tasks.
  • Work Independently and/or within a team environment to complete highly complex assignments.
  • Security design, architecture, management, and deployment of new and existing security rules and standards in datacenter environment.
  • Lead proper execution of network security changes or updates in accordance with corporate security policies to meet business requirements.
  • Responsible for security monitoring in addition to being able to lead troubleshooting network-related issues in a logical manner.
  • Research, recommend, and establish innovative solutions for security standards that scale with the business growth.
  • Where possible, introduce automation for daily routine administrative tasks.
  • Collaborates with all Information Technology (IT) disciplines.
  • Creates, maintains, and updates documentation with most relevant information.
  • Perform problem diagnosis, initiate problem resolution, and provide ongoing life-cycle support for network security deployments and upgrades.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure project scoping activities are aligned with architectural objectives.
  • Participate and provide input into the continual refinement of processes, policies, and best practices to ensure optimal performance and availability of technologies.
  • Continuously develop specialized knowledge and technical subject matter expertise by remaining apprised of industry trends, the direction of emerging technologies, and their potential value to the business.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 7-10+ years of relevant network security experience required.
  • 4+ years of experience providing day-to-day oversight/supervision to a team of technical employees and/or vendor partner resources.
  • Strong analytical and customer service abilities.
  • 5-7+ years of broad technical experience with proven expertise in a majority of the following areas
  • Strong thought leadership abilities and a highly innovative problem solver.
  • 4+ years of experience and proven success identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement to configurations, procedures and process to enable greater availability, capability and efficiency.
  • Ability to coach and mentor experienced Security staff.
  • Experience of working with large scale projects and acting as an escalation point.
  • Experience working in large global financial, enterprise or service provider network environments.
  • Leadership in direct and matrix environments.
  • Resource planning and management.
  • Stakeholder management and communications capabilities up to C-level.
  • Communication and collaboration on a technical and business level.

  • Cloud Networking - AWS, Azure, Load Balancing, Security, Monitoring
  • Automation & scripting.
  • Network Access Control.
  • Cisco Platforms Firepower Management, VPN, routing and switching (ISR/ASR/Nexus/Catalyst), wireless, ACI, Meraki, SDWAN, ISE.
  • Network Monitoring, Capacity Management, Performance Management.
