What is the opportunity?

Reporting to the Director, WM Communications, you will be a part of the Corporate Communications team and responsible for leading the development and execution of creative, impactful communications that break-through and effectively articulate the Investor Services (IS) strategy, engage employees and drive understanding and support for RBC's strategy, vision and values. The Senior Manager works in partnership with other business, functional and corporate communications teams, and supports key enterprise-wide initiatives.

What will you do?

  • Proactively provide strategic counsel to the IS CEO and leadership team lead and deliver internal and external communications strategies.
  • Take a lead role in the development and support rollout of IS strategy and ongoing employee awareness through consistent leadership communications activities.
  • Coordinate and draft speaking remarks and briefs for Investor Services CEO's speaking engagements and events
  • Lead and support development and execution of Investor Services leadership events (Town Halls, leadership forums, AMAs) including agendas, invites, post event surveys, etc.
  • Lead CEO employee messaging (i.e. quarterly notes) and support CEO social media posts
  • Manage HR relationship to execute against key IS leadership initiatives.
  • Position IS as a leader in the marketplace through integrated external communications campaigns including PR, content development and thought-leadership activities, working closely with marketing & business partners and senior leaders to ensure alignment across all touchpoints.
  • Help protect and enhance the RBC brand through effective issues management and media relations.
  • Support development of Investor Services communications calendar and messaging, aligning to other WM and Corporate Communications priorities
  • Contribute to the success of RBC Brand, Marketing, Communications and Citizenship's overarching goals, including instilling a strong ONE RBC culture.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 5-7 years of corporate communications, PR or public affairs experience
  • Proven track record as a respected strategic advisor to senior executives with success developing and executing integrated communication strategies that help achieve business outcomes
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, negotiate and build consensus while navigating a large and global matrixed organization
  • Internal communications, media relations, social media, change management, and issues management experience
  • Results-oriented, strategic thinker who brings a bold and creative approach and focus on measuring outcomes against business objectives
  • Undergraduate degree/post-graduate certificate or equivalent in communications, public relations, journalism, English or related field

Nice-to-have

  • Financial services experience, specifically experience in the Asset Services industry
