Key Responsibilities

  • Using data from a variety of sources, analyze complex business issues, incorporating company and industry knowledge, technological expertise, and sound analytical processes. Uses statistical analysis, modeling, and other quantitative techniques to answer business questions, identify issues, and recommend courses of action.
  • Analyzes lending portfolios to maximize profitability by managing risk exposure. Identify segments or acquisition channels/policies that have high risk exposure. Performs sensitivity analysis around key drivers of losses.
  • Serves as the provider of monthly Risk Management MIS and guidance as it relates to the portfolios. Presents results of analysis and/or recommendations to business managers, utility partners, and external partners. Communicates action plans and priorities to appropriate partners.
  • Forecasts credit losses for the Banks portfolios (including Credit Card and Mortgage others as assigned) to ensure alignment of charge-offs and loss reserves. Evaluates and validates the loss reserve methodology at least once annually. Reviews reserve methodology against industry performance as well as segmented performance of the Ameriprise portfolios.
  • Continuously monitors credit quality and practices including collections, foreclosures, and credit line management.

Required Qualifications

  • Engineering (B.E./ B.Tech.) graduate is required, and master's degree in quants would be preferred
  • 5+ years' consumer credit risk management related analysis experience
  • 2+ years' experience in Loan Loss forecasting or CECL loss reserving
  • High degree of proficiency with statistical software, such as Python, R (or equivalent)
  • Strong analytical abilities, including capability to build business cases and proposals.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with a high degree of integrity.
  • Experience with credit card and mortgage portfolios, analytics management, and credit risk management.
  • Experience with predictive modeling preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including teamwork, leadership, and influence management.
  • Willingness and ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience of using AWS Data Lake and tools, such as Dataiku, SageMaker etc.
