This position will be located in our New York City office or other east coast location.

What are the

ongoing responsibilities of this role?

  • Develop content for scheduled, recurring
  • monthly, quarterly, and other periodic investment product commentaries
  • Write and oversee production of ad-hoc deliverables (e.g., thematic papers, market commentaries).
  • Originate ideas for content from industry news, research, investor calls, and the Franklin Templeton Investment Institute. Conduct meetings/interviews with portfolio managers and senior management for new content and white papers.
  • Attend investment meetings with portfolio managers and research analysts to build knowledge of underlying investment strategies and learn the voice of the PM to effectively develop communications.
  • Manage assigned
  • projects/deliverables
  • Ensure copy complies with corporate standards, effectively communicates desired message, and meets project
  • deadlines/specifications.
  • May assist with the completion of RFPs, DDQs, pre-sale and post-sale marketing collateral and corporate communications.

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

  • The ideal candidate will have
  • 5+ years
  • writing monthly/quarterly investment performance attribution driven commentaries
  • writer experience at a mutual fund a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably with a major in English, communications, economics, or similar discipline.
  • Solid, proven understanding of investment products and industry.
  • Demonstrated success in adhering to schedules, multi-tasking, project management, attention to detail, organization of materials and cooperating with team members.
  • Knowledge of business desktop applications (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows, etc.).
  • Effective interpersonal skills, proficiency at prioritization, proven experience with simultaneously managing multiple tasks, and the ability to operate under scheduled deadlines.
  • Proficiency in interpreting statistical and financial information strong ability to translate data to support written statements.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills, including ability to perform mathematical calculations or analyses and accurately proofread documents.
  • Works autonomously, with limited general
  • direction/supervision
  • Experience working with cross-functional and multi-channel teams (e.g., Portfolio Management, Marketing, Legal, Creative Services, Principal).

There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. The salary, benefits and variable rewards will reflect the seniority of the position and a competitive market rate. We expect the annual salary for this position to range between $120,000 - $160,000.
