What is the Senior Financial Analyst Investment Management Support group responsible for?

  • The Senior Financial Analyst participates as a team member in the preparation, development, coordination, and communication of budgets, forecasts, financial reporting, variance analysis, research, and related activities. The role will contribute to managing, coordinating, and communicating monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results. The role will partner closely with a broad range of Finance and business leaders to solve problems and develop solutions to achieve results.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Senior Financial Analyst?

  • Support the annual budget planning and monthly forecast processes and ensure understanding and alignment of Franklin Templeton's diverse specialist investment managers across public and private markets.
  • Partner with members of our specialist investment manager teams to build annual budgets and research
  • monthly/quarterly/annual
  • Update, analyze and communicate monthly financial forecasts to specialist investment managers. Financial forecasts comprise of detailed P&L statements, including Assets Under Management, Revenues and Expenses.
  • Analyze changes in both GAAP and Non-GAAP Effective Fee Rates across all specialist investment manager teams.
  • Analyze and interpret financial results in preparation of Senior Management-level presentations.
  • Collaborate with the Product Profitability team and various investment management teams on cost center allocation methodology for 15C Board reporting purposes.
  • Knowledge of data management techniques to facilitate data visualization analysis and dashboard design.
  • Improve workflows for various FP&A activities through process
  • improvement/automation.
  • Contribute to team goals, communicate recommendations, and foster innovation and creativity for process improvements to our financial processes and procedures.
  • Create effective business partnership, manage competing priorities, and provide guidance during unexpected events

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be Successful?

  • The candidate will have demonstrated an ability to influence business owners, support thoughtful decision-making, and adapt to a rapidly evolving environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or highly analytical field
  • Minimum 5+ years of finance experience
  • Experience with corporate budgeting, forecasting and the ability to independently structure and develop analyses and presentations
  • Experience with Cost Allocation methodologies and processes
  • Professional understanding of accounting and finance concepts including KPIs
  • Experience with data analysis systems (i.e. Workday Adaptive)
  • Experience with data management techniques to facilitate data visualization analysis and dashboard design (i.e. Power BI, Excel)
  • Advanced knowledge of business desktop applications (MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (i.e. formulas, pivot tables, charts and graphs)
