WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
At RBC Capital markets, we are looking for an experienced Database Developer to join our Client Banking Data & Digital team.
The objective of the developer is to design stable, robust, and reliable database objects, and processes, to effectively manage large amounts of information.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Responsible for designing and developing complex databases, maintaining the integrity of the database system, and participating in the development of database applications.
- Modelling and developing complex databases, maintaining the integrity of the database system, and participating in the development of database applications.
- Optimizing database performance and troubleshooting any issues.
- Writing and executing SQL and/or NoSQL queries.
- Ensuring data security and integrity.
- Testing databases for accuracy and functionality.
- Documenting all database designs and modifications.
- Providing technical support for database-related questions and issues.
- Creating software for retrieving, parsing and processing structured and unstructured data.
- Defining and building scalable ETL/ELT workflows for reporting and analytics.
- Supporting project team to scale, monitor and operate data platforms for very high availability and performance.
- Developing scripts and programs for converting various types of data into usable formats.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must have
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in database design and development.
- Advanced proficiency in
- programming such as SQL and T-SQL.
- MS SQL Server.
- Experience working with
- Excellent analytical, organization skills, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently on complex tasks.
Nice-to-have
- Database administration, performance tuning, and security best practices.
- MySQL/ SingleStore (Memsql)
- Certificate in Database Development.
