About this role
The Senior Data Management Analyst will work collaboratively with members of CB Lending Transformation product groups, Front Line Risk and Control, CB Operations, Risk, Finance and other teams to identify, articulate, and deliver data solutions that enable key business initiatives and/or mitigate risk. The successful candidate will have a broad and solid understanding of the Commercial Lending business, its Data Domain, and is passionate about leading transformational change.
This role requires advanced relationship, coordination and communication skills as you will partner with three key areas Data clients - downstream consumers and their tech teams data product owners - APP product teams and their tech teams and data suppliers - upstream systems of record/SoRs
In this role, you will
- Lead or participate in moderately complex programs and initiatives for data quality, governance, and metadata activities
- Design and conduct moderately complex analysis to identify and remediate data quality, data integrity, process, and control gaps
- Analyze, assess, and test data controls and data systems to ensure quality and risk compliance standards are met and adhere to data governance standards and procedures
- Identify data quality metrics and execute data quality audits to benchmark the state of data quality
- Develop recommendations for optimal approaches to resolve data quality issues and implement plans for assessing the quality of new data sources leveraging domain expertise and data, business, or process analysis to inform and support solution design
- Lead project teams and mentor less experienced staff members
- Drive planning and coordination on moderately complex remediation efforts acting as central point of contact
- Consult with clients to assess the current state of data and metadata quality within area of assigned responsibility
- Participate in cross-functional groups to develop companywide data governance strategies
- Provide input into communication routines with stakeholders, business partners, and experienced leaders
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, or Project Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications
- Good understanding of loan life cycle such as loan origination, underwriting, portfolio management, collateral management, loan accounting servicing
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with Lending data systems and process in Banking and Financial services industry
- 7 + years of hands-on experience with support data supply chain for regulatory and high priority reporting
- In depth knowledge of Wells Fargo Commercial Lending Data Environment including WDM, WCDIR, IHUB and systems used in Commercial Lending (LoanIQ, AFS)
- 5+ years of experience with extensive data analysis/ review and mapping /transforming data for regulatory reporting schedules like FRY 14 Q Schedule H1/H2 , FR-Y9C, Basel III
- 5+ years of experience with Coordinating efforts with multiple teams like IHUB, WCDIR, CAR, on regulatory reports.
- 5+ years of consulting experience working with business partners to define their analytic needs and working with data partners to deliver on the need

- Strong SQL and data visualization experience and ability to tell a story with data
- Ability to discuss and understand business needs/wants with non-technical people
- Experience communicating in both written and verbal formats with senior executive-level leaders
- Ability to influence, partner, and negotiate with senior business leaders to gain commitment to accomplish business goals
- Ability to develop and integrate data driven and analytical decision making for product and service operational activities
- Develop strategy and solutions architecture for Commercial Lending platforms while identifying rationalization and simplification opportunities
- Understanding and execution leveraging agile methodology
- Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
Job Expectations
- Act as a key data subject matter expert for Financial & Risk Regulatory reporting.
- Lead the execution and delivery of data transformational and remediation activities working closely with the LOB Product team(s) - Loan Delivery, Loan Accounting, Lending Collateral, and LOB leader(s) across the Lending domain of CB and CIB
- Participate in Regulatory Data Product Backlog refinement, prioritization, pre-planning event, working with the product manager and stakeholders to define the architectural approach, capability roadmap, and high-level objectives for the roadmap.
- Simplify the E2E data supply chain (Produce => Distribute => Use) of Lending data for high priority regulatory reporting (eg FRY 14Q, FR 2052a), while ensuring no disruption to these high priority commitments during conversion/transformation
- Provide vision, leadership, and industry expertise regarding complex companywide strategies that significantly influence the organizations business and financial operations
