Strategy, Partnerships & Operations (SPO) is a subdivision of Vanguards Institutional Investor Group (IIG) division and is responsible for managing IIGs strategic relationship with critical service providers in the enhancement and evolution of IIGs full-service defined contribution business.

In this role, you will

  • Operate a robust contract management program that improves the division's third-party oversight and establishes best practices throughout Vanguard
  • Lead contract drafting and negotiation of new agreements with critical service providers
  • Analyze contract amendments support senior stakeholders in evaluating and approving contract changes
  • Identify, mitigate and resolve contract issues with financial, legal and reputation risk

  • Form relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders to implement solutions to assist in their technical, operational and financial oversight of critical

  • Establish protocols and processes for acceptance of services and deliverables, escalation of issues and performance reporting for critical
  • Monitor and enforce all deliverables and obligations, reviewing evidence and escalating when needed
  • Develop an understanding of business process issues and utilize procurement expertise to identify and resolve complex contractual issues
  • Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

What it takes

  • Minimum of eight years related work experience
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent combination of training and experience preferred
  • Contract drafting and negotiation experience preferred
  • IT industry knowledge preferred
