Reporting to the Director, Employee Benefits, the Senior Benefits Consultant & Project Manager will be responsible for

leading/collaborating

How you will contribute

  • Partner with the Director and other Benefit team leaders to evolve benefits and wellness programs
  • Lead or collaborate on a range of benefits and wellness projects including implementation of new plans and plan changes and communicate updates to relevant parties
  • Develop and monitor benefit plans key metrics and monitor plan metrics to recommend changes/participant communications
  • Conduct market analysis and analyze internal and competitive data and program outcomes to help shape future strategies and prepare summary of results with insights
  • Conduct research on current trends as inputs to strategic planning
  • Conduct vendor management activities relating to vendor contract process including ISRAs, and PIAs
  • Manage internal and external governance activities including annual retirement plan audits
  • Support department records management and risk assessment reporting
  • Coordinate controlled group testing and liaise with Sun Life affiliates
  • Support M&A/plan merger integrations and communications
  • Provide support for retirement plan operations and interact with Payroll on payroll-related retirement plan matters
  • Participate in other projects from time-to-time to support delivery of Total Rewards work and realization of the Total Rewards vision

What you will bring with you

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in managing retirement and health & welfare plans for a mid-size to large organization
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions a plus
  • Expert knowledge of US retirement and health & welfare plans
  • Excellent excel and analytical skills with ability to summarize results in understandable format with insights
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Deep knowledge of plan compliance, ERISA and other benefits legislation, and privacy and security matters
  • Strong problem-solving skills to approach ambiguous situations with an analytical mindset
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to effectively lead, influence, and collaborate with cross functional and virtual teams
