Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

This role is a Senior Associate/VP level opportunity in the Global Client Group at Brookfield Asset Management with the focus being to help raise capital and support the senior client relationship managers (CRMs), and to maintain existing client relationships.

The Senior Associate/VP will work across all asset classes that Brookfield specializes in (Real Estate, Infrastructure, Renewables, Private Equity) and stretch across all parts of the fundraising process (marketing activities, direct client communications, research, client / prospect due diligence). This role will give early exposure to institutional fundraising in the alternatives industry.

The responsibilities of the role include

  • Support all aspects of fund marketing activities, client prospect due diligence and onboarding processes.
  • Work with CRMs to originate new client investment activity and directly target the white space of investors
  • Coordinate and attend update meetings with investment teams (prepare pre-meeting reports and appropriate materials, coordinate any follow-up)
  • Cover on-site due diligence meetings with investment teams (prepare pre-meeting reports and appropriate materials, coordinate any follow-up)
  • Directly communicate with clients to support their due diligence requests.
  • Maintain Brookfield's internal CRM system (Salesforce), ensuring that the system is up to date for internal reporting purposes.
  • Compile detailed pre-meeting reports for each client meeting involving Brookfield investment professionals
  • Detailed research and analysis, leveraging market data and other sources, with the aim of creating targeted prospective investor lists for new funds and strategies.
  • Help coordinate road shows, conferences, and investor meetings.
  • Assist with conference/ meeting planning setup, prepare and co-ordinate with different stakeholders (both within and beyond the organization)
  • Facilitate broad investor communication initiatives.

REQUIRED

EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED

  • 5-8 years of experience in private alternative investments (LP or GP), fund marketing, due diligence, sales, client services or other fundraising or client function
  • Strong understanding of the fundraising process (from early-stage dialogue to process completion)
  • Demonstrated understanding of the fund subscription processes and key negotiation items.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage investor meetings as required and to identify cross selling opportunities.
  • Required understanding of the alternative investment industry, competitive landscape, LP market and positioning of funds

REQUIRED

  • Undergraduate degree with an excellent academic background
  • Post graduate studies in finance such as CFA, MBA, or CA/CPA a plus.
  • Strong investment and financial analytical capabilities and investment reporting experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including preparation and delivery of presentations.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), experience with Salesforce a plus
  • Team player with positive attitude and pro-active approach to work
  • Able to develop a strong internal/external network and ability to build relationships and work with professionals around the organization.
  • Proactively seeks opportunities to get involved in more challenging projects.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a very fast-paced and team-oriented environment

Salary Range $165K - $190K
