What Youll Do

We're looking for a Senior Associate Accountant to join our Investment Accounting Reporting & Analysis Team in Principal Asset Management. In this role, you'll primarily perform monthly and quarterly GAAP/SAP reporting for investments and collaborate with others on project initiatives. Some of your responsibilities could include

  • Internal and external GAAP/SAP reporting for the General Account portfolio
  • Portfolio level analysis holdings, income, and realized gains and losses
  • Reporting on bonds, stocks, mortgages, derivatives and other investment types
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests
  • Assist in preparation of schedules and footnotes used for the statutory Bluebook filing
  • Drive continuous improvement focusing on streamlining, improving, and automating processes

Who You Are

  • You have a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of relevant experience preferred
  • CPA or other appliable certifications preferred
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, time management, strong communication skills, agility, and self-motivation are key.

Skills That Will Help You Stand Out

  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to learn systems and applications used within the firm
