Job Description
PURPOSE
The primary purpose for this position is to perform input and review on processes and support for exception-based and potentially complex operational processeses. Incumbent will review, verify, and record data into technology systems supporting department processes. In addition, incumbent will research, resolve, or secure requested information for other Operation's areas, RBC Business Units or industry participants. Incumbent provides guidance and implementation support for department process changes, system enhancements, and new initiatives. Incumbent will address questions independently and escalate to reporting manager as appropriate following established department procedures. Position contains elements of risk which are managed through operational reviews, system checks, and adherence to procedures.
Working Hours 6pm-3am / 7pm-4am
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide accurate analysis and processing support for exception-based, complex, processes within a specific Operation's department. Accurately review, verify, and/or record data into technology supporting department processes. Understand department procedures and required accountabilities in the area or department in which the incumbent works. Refers to department manuals for instructions and task assignments for the specific role.
- Liaise and provide support and problem resolution, or securing information from other Operation's departments, RBC Business Units, or industry participants. Address questions independently escalate to reporting manager as appropriate following established department procedures.
- Reduce risk or increase efficiencies by suggesting process changes and system modifications. Participate in testing and implementation of new systems and processes as required.
- Train and act as a resource for other team members.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Qualifications
- Degree from an accredited university or equivalent OR Diploma or equivalent AND 2 years of job-related experience
- 1+ year business, finance and/or
- accounting/bookkeeping
Other Required Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to demonstrate strong analytical, mathematical, exception-based processing skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced and deadline driven environment
- Ability to understand and meet business daily support needs on an ongoing basis
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately on exception based complex and/or highly specialized processes with minimal supervision
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Ability to work well and maintain composure under pressure
- Demonstrated self-directedness in researching, analyzing, and solving problems
- Proficient computer skills in Windows-based software products including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Proven ability to effectively deal with difficult people, situations and/or conflict
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree from an accredited university in business, finance or related field
