Job Description

Brookfield are seeking a motivated candidate with accounting expertise and leadership capabilities to supervise a prominent Real Estate Investment Manager and its affiliated holding entities. The primary responsibility entails delivering financial reports to internal stakeholders. Key tasks include preparing quarterly financial reports, managing accounting for Investment Management fees, and associated general and administrative expenses, and developing monthly/quarterly presentations to assist senior management in strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and scrutinize financial statements following UK IFRS guidelines
  • Take charge of reporting and compliance procedures, encompassing IFRS quarterly financials, annual audited financials, tax obligations, and LP/GP reporting
  • Ensure adherence to FCA regulations and reporting standards
  • Manage accounting for onshore and offshore investment management fees in line with fund documentation
  • Oversee accounting for general and administrative expenses and ensure proper allocation to the Manager or Funds
  • Monitor and recover project costs efficiently
  • Aid in the preparation of monthly and quarterly analyses and reports to assist senior management in strategic decision-making processes
  • Develop budgets and the annual Business Plan
  • Coordinate with global teams in Toronto, New York, and APAC and prepare submission for Head office in Toronto
  • Collaborate with big 4 firms during external audit and tax reporting processes
  • Maintain efficient and controlled cash management, including monitoring liquidity, managing capital calls, facilitating distributions, and reviewing wire transfers
  • Provide training, mentorship, and motivation to team members

Requirements

  • Possession of ACA/ACCA Professional Membership with 2 years PQE
  • Achieved 2.1 in any degree discipline
  • Strong Excel skills and proficient in Powerpoint
  • Experience with accounting software (preferably MS Dynamics)
