To that end, we are looking to grow the Enterprise Data Office (EDO) team by adding a Scrum Lead Chapter Lead to help us advance on our agile journey.

This role will lead the scrum master chapter in the Analytics product family within the Enterprise Data Office. The EDO works to align data management and analytics efforts across the enterprise to better support Vanguard's aspiration to be a more data-driven organization and compete effectively with rapidly maturing data and analytics (D&A) capabilities across our industry.

In this role, you will

  • Hire, evaluate, and supervise crew. Provide guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Set performance standards, review performance, and make informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Lead, build, and coach high performing teams in the delivery of technology-related products or projects, ensuring team actions are aligned with project and business goals. Instruct and coach other professionals.
  • Lead planning, team learning, and adaptation of processes to ensure the quality of team solutions.
  • Enable a continuous learning environment, identify ways to strengthen the teams understanding of Agile/Scrum concepts and principles as they relate to technical capabilities.
  • Build and apply methodology that supports the integration of changing customer inputs and business conditions into technology-related product development.
  • Recommend to the product owner and management in the definition and prioritization of technology-related outcomes. Identify trade-offs between short and long term benefits to drive shared vision between the team and product owner.
  • Ensure the application of agile frameworks to the development process to increase effectiveness of technology-related product development or architecture.
  • Remove roadblocks to technology-related product development or architecture. Apply learnings to other development projects.

What it takes

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience required. Computer Science or Engineering experience preferred. Graduate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years related work experience. Two years of leading large cross-functional teams on major organizational technology projects preferred. Financial Services and technical experience preferred.
  • Scrum/Agile Certification strongly preferred.
