What is the opportunity?

  • In-depth research reports on sustainable growth, climate change, innovation and human capital
  • Timely analysis and forecasts of the economy and financial markets
  • Quarterly economic updates and monthly Canadian housing analysis
  • An ongoing series of conversations with leading thinkers about reimagining Canada's economy

What will you do?

  • Support SVP with briefing material and related research
  • Conduct secondary research, analyze data, develop insights and prepare comprehensive briefing documents on various topics including market trends, geopolitics, technology, legislation.
  • Collect and analyze data from multiple sources to provide valuable insights and recommendations.
  • Prepare detailed briefing documents, reports, and presentations summarizing research findings and analysis.
  • Assist in developing research strategies and methodologies for larger thought leadership reports
  • Stay updated on relevant industry news, publications, and research methodologies to ensure the delivery of high-quality outputs.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify research needs and prioritize tasks accordingly
  • Participate in meetings and discussions to present research findings and contribute to strategic decision-making processes.
  • Maintain organized records of research materials, data sources, and documentation for future reference

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • ~2-3 experience in research, data analysis, or a related field
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data sets and draw meaningful conclusions
  • Proficiency in research methodologies, data collection techniques, and statistical analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear and concise briefing documents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with data visualization tools preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize workload effectively
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work

Nice-to-have

  • Bachelors degree in a related field such as Economics, Business, Market Research, or equivalent experience
  • Experience working in financial services
  • Experience working with Bloomberg terminal
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a proactive and flexible approach to problem-solving
