POSITION SUMMARY

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated a passion for solving business problems with technology and possess strong programming experience. This position is a hands-on role responsible for developing, supporting, and maintaining firmwide research, investment, risk, performance and trading data-rich platform supported by applications, APIs, and visualization tools. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a strong technical background and excellent communication skills to interface directly with OSAM's research team and CIO.

Quant Developer

The position will be located in either

Stamford, CT or New York City

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the Researchers to integrate & optimize research data processes and models as well as with the Performance team to automate generation of performance, tax alpha, and attribution data points
  • Design and develop cloud-native solutions in C#/Python/SQL to promote consistency of use of the Firmwide data platform across numerous analytical tools.
  • Build robust data pipelines from many sources of varied levels of data quality, supporting both research demands, ad-hoc client analytic requests, and the core production applications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field of study. Advanced degree a plus
  • 2+ years of prior professional programming experience
  • Some C# and SQL experience
  • Working knowledge working with Windows environments and cloud-based technologies (Azure)
  • Excellent communication skills to be able to interact with a wide range of users ranging from very technical (quants) to non-technical
  • Strong analytical skillset with demonstrated attention to detail
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt quickly and work in a dynamic environment

Other Desired Experience

  • Experience working in a financial services company, ideally in asset management
  • SQL Server experience
  • Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD, and
  • infrastructure-as-code

Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the base salary for this position to range between USD $128,100 - $150,800.
