Job Description

Available Locations Minneapolis, MN or Charlotte, NC

NOTE This role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means theres an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated AI/ML Quantitative Analyst who's adept at advanced Generative AI development and implementations to join our AI/ML Center of Excellence in Model Risk Management. The team plays a critical role in providing oversight to U.S. Bank's Artificial Intelligence Models and tools across various business areas, such as Marketing, Fraud, Credit Risk and Bank Operations.

Responsibilities

Validate AI/ML models with a focus on Generative AI, ensuring they meet model risk governance requirements in conceptual soundness, development data/process, performance testing, risk guardrails, monitoring, and implementation. Conduct R&D in NLP, computer vision and particularly Generative AI and their potential applications and use cases Provide validation expertise and consulting services related to AI/ML model development and model review, including best practices on algorithm development and selection, model risk mitigation and remediation, building benchmark AI models, identify gaps and deficiencies in AI model development and monitoring process, etc. Develop technical guidance documents, playbook and white paper on AI/ML.

- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, and five or more years of relevant experience

Basic Qualifications

Preferred Skills/Experience

Considerable knowledge of various machine learning algorithms and their applications, including Random Forest, GBM, XGBoost, deep learning, NLP, computer vision, multi-modality

Proficiency in Python, and experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, Tensorflow/Keras, MXNet

Experience with complex deep neural networks and transformer architectures.

Proven work or research experience in a university or industry labs, with primary emphasis on AI research. Experience and authored research publications in LLM or Computer Vision model training, fine-tuning, reinforcement learning, Gen AI application development/deployment are strongly preferred.

Demonstrated independence, teamwork and excellent project management and communication skills
