Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC's Technology and Operations division. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for effective planning, executing, automating, and tracking functional and regression tests as part of Finance IT releases or projects.
What will you do?
- Create test plans, test cases and test scripts based on requirement documents and business User Stories
- Develop and maintain automated test suites using test automation tools.
- Execute test cases (manual/automated), document test results and raise defects whenever necessary.
- Work with JIRA, Confluence, qTest for test case management, defect management, test reporting and other functions
- Participate in agile ceremonies like, Sprint planning, grooming sessions, stand-up meetings, demo sessions, and retrospective meetings.
- Based on the requirements, execute Functional, E2E, Regression and integration testing.
- Participate in defect triage and Scrum meetings.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Good knowledge of QE Processes, Testing Life Cycle, SDLC and Defect Management processes for application testing, development, and support with hands-on experience in creating test cases, executing manual/automated test cases
- With a Computer Engineering, Computer Science degree/diploma or equivalent experience having minimum 4 years of experience in a QA/test environment with a focus on technical, automated testing in a variety of environments (Cloud, distributed and mainframe, business workflows and services/APIs, databases).
- Knowledge of Testing Methodologies with hands on experience on JIRA and Confluence.
- Experience in API, Regression, DB, UI Automation testing
- Strong problem solving, design, and analytical skills.
- Experience in test automation frameworks/tools e.g., (Robot Framework, SoapUI or ReadyAPI, Postman, Selenium, TestNG) and development languages (e.g. Python, Java, etc.)
- Knowledge of CI/CD and Devops Tools such as Jenkins, GIT, Docker, UCD etc.
- Database technologies (e.g. MongoDB, DB2, Oracle, SQL, IMS) and SQL experience.
