The Strategic Remediation Oversight and Governance Program and Reporting Manager is a part of the Strategic Remediation Oversight and Governance (SROG)'s leadership team within the Global Regulatory Affairs function. They are responsible for ensuring appropriate program management across SROG's wide mandate of enterprise driven programs and projects, including identifying and proactively tracking key milestones, requests, and/or deadlines. Working closely with the Head of SORG, the role has direct responsibility for plan development, monitoring, and reporting resource management management reporting and communications.
The successful individual will play a significant role in providing thought leadership and challenge in relation to SORG program strategy, structure, prioritization, and execution and will establish and maintain strong relationships with other team members and stakeholders across the organization.
The key responsibilities of the role include
Leadership and Management
- Take ownership of the SROG program plans and ensure alignment to overall Global Regulatory Affairs objectives
- Provide input on program and/or project strategy, planning, organisation, direction, and control
- Work closely with the senior leadership and stakeholders to develop and build a program structure to support complex requirements aligned with best practice
- Prioritize and drive program execution accordingly to support the agreed strategy
- Provide holistic oversight and structure to assigned programs to cultivate a path to sustainable success
- Agree and set clear and measurable goals, KPIs and OKRs for program activity within the team
- Craft insightful, factual, and compelling reporting and narratives aligned to intended audience needs
- Establish and develop strong working relationships and open communication with key team and organizational stakeholders
Operational
- Perform business analysis to draft program or project business requirements, identify solutions, and obtain sign off
- Prepare, track, and present periodic program and project status reporting (e.g., scope, schedule, budget)
- Develop forward-thinking resource plans and requirements for individual projects and the overall program
- Manage the program and project life cycle from initiation to completion (e.g., preparing the business case, resourcing, performance reporting, quality control, change control, close out)
- Organize and chair governance meetings
- Maintain knowledge of, and report on, project or program issues, risks, and dependencies
- Escalate issues and update management and relevant committees as appropriate
- Work collaboratively with other Northern Trust teams to drive change and achieve objectives
Other
- Partner with different business and operational lines to ensure support is secured and properly provided
- Share knowledge in the form of training, mentoring or coaching others
- Drive programmatic collaboration and transparency
- Provide support to the Head of Strategic Remediation Oversight and Governance and the Global Regulatory Affairs function as required
The successful candidate will benefit from having
- A college or university degree, preferred
- 10+ yrs. experience in financial services
- Previous program management and reporting experience
- Strong analytical, leadership, and organizational skills
- Demonstrate strong initiative and interpersonal skills, sound decision-making, analytical and intuitive mind-sets, political awareness, and sensitivity to cultural diversity
- Experience successfully leading global projects in a regulated environment
- Thorough understanding of program and project management principles in relation to people, systems, and processes
- Interest and aptitude for identifying problems of varying complexity and developing sound and actionable solutions within given constraints
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to multitask and demonstrate flexibility to change plans at short notice
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms, with all levels of staff and management
Preferred Skills / Experience
- Professional certifications and/or an MBA or JD along with demonstrated technical abilities in select areas (e.g., regulatory compliance, risk management)
