Product Strategy Senior Associate
What is the Product Strategy Senior Associate responsible for?
This individual will partner across US Distribution and the firm's investment managers to help drive our product development and strategy efforts. The role will work closely with senior leaders to ensure Franklin Templeton's product offering is in line with customer needs, market trends, and the goals of the US business.
This position will be primarily responsible for gathering, analyzing, and reporting product and industry data. This position will involve working with large volumes of data (i.e., performance, assets, flows, fees, characteristics) for an evolving set of investment vehicles, including mutual funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and separate accounts (SMA).
What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Product Strategy Senior Associate?
- Continuously monitor and research competitor, client, regulatory, and industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation and product development
- Help define and build the business case for product strategy and new product development for senior stakeholders across distribution and investment leadership.
- Collaborate with key partners across the broader product, data, and investment teams to analyze sales, performance and characteristic data
- Identify industry/competitive data-related needs of key partners by working with databases and other sources to offer solutions for delivery on a systematic and/or recurring basis
- Contribute to the development of business processes and structure
- Help educate/develop internal partners in

What ideal qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?
- Bachelor's Degree required progress towards CFA or CAIA preferred
- 3-5 years of investment management industry experience, preferably in product
- development/management
- Current knowledge of investment products, financial markets, and financial operations
- Solutions-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong demonstrated ability to accurately curate and understand data from Morningstar Direct, SimFund, eVestment, Lipper and other relevant sources
- Experienced in manipulating large data sets using Excel and other programs and creating related polished documentation using PowerPoint, MS Word and Excel.
- Familiarity with Python, SQL or other coding tools as well as experience working in cloud-based database such as Snowflake or Databricks is helpful, but not required
- Familiarity using Tableau or PowerBI to visualize data through dashboards is helpful, but not required
- Comfortable leading or managing multiple project workstreams
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills ability to deal with ambiguity & rapid change and competing deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to review and synthesize information and form independent judgments
- Strong analytical and quantitative abilities
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills and excellent follow-through
