The Procurement Operations & Analytics Consultant will focus on collaboration across different functional groups within Northern Trust and the Procurement organization in regards to data, systems, and reporting. This role will ensure delivery of reporting, operational excellence and improvement, and executive dashboard creation and maintenance.
- Collaborate with The Procurement Leadership team and Northern business partners to develop and execute sourcing and procurement strategies and processes.
- Develop and implement process improvements across 3rd Party Risk, Sourcing, Accounts Payable, Diversity, Market Data, and Operations.
- Conduct and perform audits of systems, data, and processes as requested
- Create dashboards and metrics to support category manager strategies
- Manage, develop, and monitor procurement related communications in unison with Northern's communication team
- Act as Liaison and provide project management for assigned projects within Procurement
- Update and manage internal website content
- Analyze industry and vendor data / trends and make recommendations to procurement team
- Assist with forecasting / planning processes
- Provide thought-leadership around improvements of global policies, operations, programs and processes
- Drive vendor quality and performance improvement initiatives and harness vendor innovation ideas
- Carry out complex activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impacts.
- Establishes periodic strategic reviews with executive leadership to promote top-down alignment and best practices with clients.
- Leads and manages sourcing events as-needed (e.g. Request for Proposal, Request for Information, Request for Quote, Renewals, New Product negotiations) and the sourcing process, including project management, development of RFx, negotiations and award process.
- Responsible for contract review, drafting and creation of various agreements, including NDAs, Master Agreements, Statements of Work, etc. and leading all aspects of contract & price negotiations and ongoing contract administration.
- Responsible for adherence to procurement processes and procedures.
- Supports supplier adherence to contracts, manages suppliers via supplier activity reporting and business/performance reviews, supports supplier scorecards, supplier rationalization and demand management opportunities.
- Supports regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g. OFAC, FCPA, Spend Analysis, Client Relationships).
- Manages reporting of Procurement performance metrics and provides ongoing support for internal and external audit requests.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with key partners, education on policy/guidelines and resolving related purchasing issues.
- Interacts with business and Partners to formulate and implement strategy and solutions to enhance existing services, create new services or improve processes.
- Identifies impact of changes and processes facilitates acceptance of change through training and communication.
Knowledge
Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in Strategy Sourcing, Operations, System Management, and Category Management best practices.
Master's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or Finance is preferred.
Past experience presenting to executive and senior manage.
Ability to develop complex dashboards using PowerBI or other such applications is preferred.
