Position Overview
The Corporate Communications team at Apollo, which leads all communications, corporate brand and corporate marketing activities globally is seeking a new team member who is a self-starter with strong writing and media relations skills, excellent project management skills and exceptional judgement. This role will sit in the Singapore office and cover Apollo's Asia-Pacific platform.
The ideal candidate for this role is an accomplished communications professional with a keen intellect, tireless work ethic, and a broad world view combined with creativity, vision and ambition. It will be important to have hands-on experience with M&A communications, crisis management and special situations, ESG, and organizational communications. Importantly, this professional will have high EQ, mental agility, and the confidence and executive presence to earn the trust of Apollos top leaders.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES
The role encompasses a broad spectrum of responsibilities, including
- Working with Apollo executives and teams across business lines to develop and implement strategic, proactive media plans and tactics to support corporate and divisional business and marketing objectives and drive measurable results.
- Taking a proactive role in media engagement, driving story ideas, organizing and scaling the office, initiatives and issues management
- Creating informative, persuasive and concise internal and external communications
- Align closely with global team and work will closely with colleagues based in New York and Asia to ensure alignment of strategic priorities globally
- Planning and executing both internal and external speaking engagements on behalf of senior executives
- Drafting press releases, briefing notes, talking points, internal and external content
- Lead and manage the relationships with local agencies, serving as their day-to-day contact
- Ad-hoc projects, as needed
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 10-12 years of relevant experience in hands-on media relations and required expertise in financial, transactional and corporate communications
- Proven ability to consistently make sound judgments, engage and build trust with senior executives and effectively collaborate with others
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently
- Have a track-record establishing, building and managing meaningful relationships with media, key stakeholders, our executives, journalists and global colleagues
- Experience in managing reputational risk and crisis communications
- Effective manager of external agencies
- Highly entrepreneurial and self-motivated who thrives in a dynamic and passionate work environment
- Ability to speak additional languages highly valued

- Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills and experience or deep understanding of communicating across varied platforms, content types and technologies
