Role Messaging and Communications Governance Lead

Position Summary

The Messaging and Communication Governance Lead supports the ongoing maintenance of future-state Messaging and Communications Governance. The Governance Lead drives initiatives that enable broader goals. Overall, the candidate will be responsible for managing the Messaging and Communication governance which will include overseeing multiple projects and work streams, delivery of critical strategic business capabilities, and effectively working with multiple business units or disciplines. This role is responsible for aligning resources, overseeing the budget, creating project plans and tracking key

milestones/risks/dependencies.

Major Duties

Provides comprehensive leadership oversight and coordination of governance operations. Serves as the lead for members of the Messaging and Communications Governance Council and Working Groups. Provides guidance and direction to Working Groups regarding strategic direction and execution of program goals. Responsible for all oversight aspects of program engagement and scheduling of touchpoints. Provides a single point of contact for those projects. Develops progress and status reports to share and present to Executive Sponsorship. Reports to Executive Sponsorship regarding progress and ongoing resourcing needs. Focus of role is on execution of a program initiated to deliver a change in the strategic direction of business function activities Expansion of critical business capabilities or implementation of cross business unit regulatory change. Provides leadership and guidance to others to solve complex problems. Leadership and organizational skills are required to determine the Program's goals, structure, budget and resource need Strong team work skills to drive execution without direct reporting line responsibilities Communicates difficult concepts and negotiates with others to adopt a different point of view experience.

  • Ability to interprets internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services
  • Ability to proactively assess issues, identify solutions and problem solve.
  • Ability to understand and interact with technology subject matter experts regarding technology topics which align to regulatory and compliance requirements.

  • Ability to develop relationships with diverse groups and various levels of financial and operating personnel.

Experience Required

  • Seasoned expert with program/project management expertise that has been developed over 15+ years of experience.
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Portfolio/Program management experience in financial institutions
  • Strong knowledge and expertise with regulatory, compliance and retention mandates in financial institutions
