Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct the overall development strategy, ensuring alignment with business plan.
  • Manage fee developers through initial concept through design, construction and openings.
  • Implement and enforce high-quality standards throughout the development process to achieve a truly world-class outcome.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with fee developers, architects, designers, contractors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Effectively communicate project objectives and expectations to all team members, ensuring a cohesive and integrated approach.
  • Engage with local authorities, community representatives, and regulatory bodies to navigate approvals and ensure compliance.
  • Develop, analyze, and manage project budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met.
  • Conduct financial feasibility studies and cost analyses to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or project integrity.
  • Assist in initial evaluation of third-party property managers, brokers and consultants to provide services for the assigned portfolio Upon completion each development will be transitioned to Lionstones asset management team.
  • ESG oversight - Work with internal resources, property teams and consultants to devise and implement sustainable initiatives within the portfolio.
  • Conduct thorough market research to inform decision-making and align the project with market demands. Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and demographic shifts to optimize project positioning.
  • Navigate and secure necessary permits, approvals, and zoning requirements, ensuring compliance with local regulations. Monitor changes in legislation or regulatory frameworks that may impact the development, adapting strategies accordingly.
  • Review periodic financial reporting and variance analyses develop plans to course correct and adjust as needed. Assist in valuation reviews on a quarterly basis, including reviewing teams work product, cash flow assumptions and review of appraisals.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of real estate development experience specific to new best in class mixed-use real estate projects.
  • Demonstrated professional development experience in multiple real estate asset classes including office, multi-family, and retail.
  • Demonstrated Team management and Leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, relationship management and written/oral communication skills.
  • Ability to present detailed information and complex issues in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills with an ability to establish trust and interact with internal and external clients required.
  • Proficiency in reviewing and analyzing cash flow forecasts, financial information, including experience/ familiarity with Argus, Excel and Word.
  • Ability to travel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of varying construction types.
  • Familiarity with property management firms and leasing brokers in multiple asset classes (noted above).
