About this role
This role involves managing a team of professionals working with Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) Division, focused on
- Merger & Acquisitions, Corporate Finance, Financial Sponsor and Sustainable Finance Advisory
- Manage a team of 8-10 professionals who will be working on the above areas in M&A, Corporate Finance, Financial Sponsor Group and Sustainable Finance Advisory
- The aforementioned teams work on preparing pitching materials and financial models, which helps in company valuation and advisory to corporate clients
- There will be significant opportunities to learn, develop and work as an integral member of I&P CIB business
In this role, you will be required to
- Lead and manage the various teams in India, including Corporate Finance, M&A, Financial Sponsors, Sustainable Finance etc.
- Work with US stakeholders to define the scope of work of India team and build integration with US VP's, MD's and head of Leveraged Underwriting Group
- Drive projects and work along with juniors, on various work streams that form key components of M&A Buy or Sells side deals and/or, Corporate Finance or Capital Market transactions
- Coach and develop the team as required, and work on the career progression and planning
- Work with US team members to build financials models and historical financial analysis to assist senior bankers in pitches, valuation and other advisory materials
- Have strong MS excel skill with the ability to create complex visually appealing charts distilling high levels of information into a chart format
- Understand and respond to the queries raised by the Onshore underwriter and work in a fast paced and iterative manner
- Develop strong stakeholder relationship as the team would be working closely with other teams during the various stages of the projects, ad-hoc special projects as needed by onshore team
- Mentor analysts and associates on basic and fundamentals of M&A and Corporate Finance and perform quality check on deliverables
- Contribute to various firm wide projects focused on improving efficiency, automation, regulatory compliance
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of Wells Fargos credit risk policies, risk appetite, and underwriting guidelines
Essential qualifications/ Market skill set
- Outstanding academic qualifications MBA / MSc Finance from a premier educational institution
- 12-18yrs of experience in Credit Underwriting / Credit risk / Credit Rating, Leveraged Finance, with experience in managing team in Investment Banking
- Strong knowledge of accounting and financial concepts
- Knowledge of database tools Factset, Thomson one, Capital IQ, Factiva, LevFin Insights, LCD News and Bloomberg
- Knowledge of VBA, Tableau, Power BI etc. would be an added advantage
Additional essential skills
- Impeccable communication and interpersonal relationship skills with the ability to interact with senior professionals and key stakeholders
- Experience in working with onshore team of Bank/Consulting company, preferably with stakeholders in US or UK, with ability to influence them
- Experience and expertise in Fixed Income, Leveraged Finance and Credit domain
- Good understanding of corporate finance, financial statement, Ratio analysis, cash flow analysis, and ability to create in-depth financial models
- Strong logical, analytical skills and a systematic problem-solving approach
- Ability to proficiently use Microsoft Office Applications - Power Point and Excel
- Strong time management skills and ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Attention to detail and ability to ensure high quality of deliverables
- Ability to interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of team members and management
- Results driven, accountable and ability to work with multiple priorities in a fast-paced IB environment
